Any customer with a prepaid number must recharge his account every 90 days to keep their account active. If a customer uses a number and does not follow these processes, after a minimum of 180 days the customer’s number will be deleted from the system. The number will then be recycled, which means a number that you have been using will be recirculated for purchase in the stores.
For a better understanding of the cycle life of your SIM card, please read the steps below:
| SIM CARD LIFE CYCLE | Description |
|---|---|
| Active account | The customer can use all services on his/her mobile (Calls, Data Usage, SMS etc.) |
| Account Inactive | After airtime has expired, the customer cannot make calls, use data or send SMS, etc. However, he/she can receive calls and SMS. To make the account active again, the customer just needs to recharge it by using one of our recharge methods. |
| Expired Account | Account blocked; the customer has gone more than 120 days without recharging. The customer cannot make or receive calls, use data, or send or receive SMS. Credit remaining on the account will be removed at the end of the period. To make the account active again, the customer needs to recharge using one of our recharge methods. |
| Deactivated Account | The Number has gone more than 180 days without being recharged. There is an OPPORTUNITY to reclaim the number in question if it has not yet been reassigned. To know the information to provide to recover the number, click Here*(question 17). |
| Recycled Number | The customer can no longer retrieve the number as it is already available for resale. To use Digicel services again, the customer will have to purchase a new SIM card with a new number at a cost of $15.00. |

Here Link *How does my number become "Recycled"?
Any customer who has a prepaid number must keep his/her account active by recharge Only. If a Top-up is not done after a certain amount of time (180Days), the number will be recycled. Which means, after the expiration of the time obtained from the last recharge, plus the 120 days generally given, the customer will automatically lose the account; This number will be listed in the "Non-Existing Number" list. However. there is an OPPORTUNITY to reclaim the number in question if it is not yet recycled.
Customers who want to reactivate a "Deactivated Account " after a period inactivity (180Days), must visit one of our Retail Stores and provide the following information to verify if the requested number is available:
Full name (first and last name) of the owner along with ID card
The number the customer would like to retrieve
The ICCID number on the SIM card starts with 8901
5 Frequently dial numbers
Last Top-up Amount
In a case where the customer does not have the ICCID number once it was purchased from a Digicel Store agents will be able to search Transact to verify the DOP. If the sim was purchased from a reseller a supervisor/lead will need to pull a BO Report to verify last Top-up and numbers dialled. (All Re-add should be completed within the same day).
