Dear Valued Customer,

As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible service and supporting Barbados' digital future, we are writing to inform you of an important change to our network.

Effective December 02, 2025, Digicel (Barbados) Limited will be decommissioning its 2G network services.

This change is a vital step in our nationwide network modernization strategy and is designed to help us:

  • Enhance the speed and reliability of our 4G/LTE network

  • Improve overall service quality for the majority of customers

  • Align with Barbados’ digital transformation goals

  • Reduce our environmental impact by using more energy-efficient technology

What This Means for You

If you are currently using a 2G-only device (such as older feature phones or in the frequency band 8 for GSM or 900MHz), your service will be affected after the network is turned off. Rest assured we’ve got you covered.

Our Customer Support Program

We’re here to make this transition as easy as possible. Starting June 15, 2025, we will be rolling out a full customer support program which includes:

  • Device upgrade options available at all Digicel retail stores

  • No activation fees for customers upgrading to newer devices

  • SMS reminders to keep you updated throughout the transition

  • support team to assist 2G customers with upgrading
