Terms and Conditions

 

Effective Date: 21st March, 2024

 

The following are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of the Postpaid My Evolution Plan (“Plan”)  :

  1. What is the Postpaid My Evolution Plan?

The Postpaid My Evolution plan is a postpaid mobile plan that can only be purchased by the legal parent/s and/or guardian/s (“legal guardian/parent”) of a child (“Student”) who has written the Trinidad and Tobago Secondary Entrance Assessment (“SEA”) exam on 21st March, 2024.  The Plan is designed to upgrade as the Students get older in age.  Once the legal guardian/parent signs up for the Plan, the initial Plan will be the Base Plan as described in Table A below. Thereafter, the legal guardian/ parent will be given the option to upgrade every two (2) years, in accordance with Tables B, C and D (“Plan Upgrades”) outlined below, as the Student increases in age.  The option to upgrade this Plan will be for a total of three (3) instances as outlined in Tables B, C and D. The Base Plan and Plan Upgrades are outlined as follows :-

Customers should note the following:

  • Minutes On-net means Digicel calls to local Digicel numbers including mobile and landline numbers as well as numbers that have been ported from other local networks and are now on Digicel’s network.
  • Minutes Off-net means “Anywhere Minutes” that apply to local calls (i.e. Digicel mobile, non-Digicel mobile and landline numbers), Digicel Caribbean mobile numbers (including Guyana and Jamaica), US and Canada mobile and landline numbers. Note that Anywhere Minutes do not apply to calls to Antigua and Barbuda or calls to the UK.
  • Late payment will result in the removal of unused rollover minutes and unused rollover data from your account.
  • Students who have fully utilized their data and minutes allotments via this Plan, can purchase Add-Ons to the Plan to access additional services. If the Students are unable to purchase anymore Add-Ons, an automatic message will be sent to call Customer Care by dialing 100 from your Digicel mobile number.
  • All Add Ons will last for the specified validity period. If an Add On is not depleted during the validity period, the unused portion of the Add On will not roll over if the Plan is renewed.
  • Calls to the following destinations will be at Digicel’s standard Pay-As-You-Go rates: Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Ascension, Cook Islands, Cuba, Falkland Islands, Guinea Bissau, Honduras, Saint Helena Sao Tome & Principe, Solomon Islands, the United Kingdom, Vanuatu, as well as satellite phones.

  1. Does the Postpaid My Evolution Plan include a mobile phone?

Yes, it does. Both the Base Plan and the subsequent Plan Upgrades offer a FREE mobile phone as outlined below:

  1. How can I purchase the Postpaid My Evolution Plan?

Information and promotional material for this Plan will be distributed to primary schools at Digicel’s discretion throughout Trinidad and Tobago.  The legal guardian/parent, who would like to redeem this offer under this Plan, on behalf of the Student can do so as follows:

  1. By visiting any of Digicel’s experience stores with a copy of the Student’s SEA slip. A Digicel representative can then facilitate the sign-up process; or
  2. By scanning the QR code on Digicel’s promotional flyer and submitting the required information to the website. Upon completion of the required online form, a Digicel representative will then contact the legal guardian/ parent of the Student to initiate the sign up process. Please note, the legal guardian/parent must provide a copy of the student’s SEA slip to the Digicel representative via the allocated WhatsApp number to be supplied by the Digicel representative. The sign-up process for this plan will not be facilitated and/or completed unless the Digicel representative receives a copy of the SEA slip.

 

  1. What is the contract period for the Postpaid My Evolution Plan?

The initial contract period for this Plan is two (2) years. The Student will have to option to upgrade the Plan in accordance with the Plan Upgrades outlined in Tables B, C and D.

 

  1. What happens if I don’t want to upgrade the plan after the initial 2-year contract period?

If you do not wish to upgrade to the next tier of the Plan Upgrade as outlined above, you have the option of choosing another postpaid plan or you can convert to prepaid service.  Note however, that :-

  1. You can only move to another postpaid plan after the first three (3) months of the initial contract period for the Base Plan. If you choose to move to a prepaid service at any time during the contract period for the Base Plan or any of the Plan Upgrade periods, this will be considered a termination of the contract and you will be required to pay a penalty fee as outlined in item 6 below.
  2. Once you cancel or opt out of this Plan, you will no longer be entitled to receive the FREE mobile handset.

 

  1. What happens if I want to terminate the Postpaid My Evolution Plan before the end of the 2-year contract period?

You will have to pay a penalty fee which is calculated as the monthly subscription fee by the number of months remaining in your contract period.

 

 

  1. Can I choose a different mobile phone from the one being offered?

Yes, you can, however, you will have to pay the full price for the mobile phone.

 

  1. Can I upgrade to any one of the Postpaid My plans without any penalties during the 2-year contracted period?

Yes, you can upgrade to another Postpaid My Plan, however, you will forfeit the FREE handset offer.

 

  1. Will the cost of the Postpaid My Evolution Plan increase during the 2-year contract period?

No. The cost of the Plan is fixed during the 2-year contract period and will increase in accordance with Plan Upgrades as outlined Tables A, B, C and D above.  

 

  1. At the end of the 2-year contract after my third upgrade, will I remain on the My Postpaid Evolution plan?

You can choose to remain on the Plan as outlined in Table D above or move to another Postpaid plan.

 

  1. Do I have to return the FREE handset at the end of the 2-year contracted period?

The FREE mobile devices offered with the My Postpaid Evolution plan are yours to keep.  You do not have to return any of the devices at the end of the 2-year contract periods.

 

  1. Is there a stipulated period in which I can sign up for the Postpaid My Evolution plan?

The promotion runs from the 21st March, 2024 to 31st March, 2024.

 

  1. Additional Terms and Conditions
  • The Plan offered here is for the personal use of individuals and not commercial use. Any usage at all by an individual that in Digicel’s sole discretion is intended for financial gain or profit by you will result in the immediate termination of the plan.
  • Digicel reserves the right to terminate this Plan if in its sole opinion the plan is being abused.
  • Digicel reserves the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily) this Plan being offered to its customer at its discretion.
  • Digicel reserves the right at any time, with or without the notice, to vary or cancel these terms and conditions or the Plans. In the event of Digicel giving notice to customers of any such changes to or cancellation of the terms and conditions or the plans, it shall suffice for Digicel to give customers notice by posting such notification on Digicel’s website. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notification.
  • Customers shall be solely responsible for keeping the handset mobile devices properly secured and for all activations and other activities that occur on or through their handsets. Digicel shall not be responsible for any losses arising out of the unauthorized use of a customer’s handsets.
  • Subject to the above, Digicel’s standard Postpaid Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Fair Usage Policy shall apply.
