1.  Why is Digicel removing D’Music? A number of factors have gone into this decision, but at its core, it is a customer-driven decision. Not only do we want to be able to give our customers what they need, but we also want to give them the freedom to choose what they want and to be able to support them along the way. We are committed to focusing on our Digital efforts, and will be launching new services for our Digicel Prime bundles to customers from July 29, 2022. 

 

 

2.   When will I no longer be able to access the app?

The app will be decommissioned on July 29, 2022. Any user with an existing plan will be able to use the app until July 29, 2022. If your plan will expire after June 29, you will not be able to renew your plan, however you will access to D’Music until your plan expires. 

 

3.    Will I have to manually delete the app from my phone?

Yes, after July 29, 2022, the app will no longer be accessible. You will receive a message when you attempt to open or use the app after this date to advise you to delete. 

 

4.    Will I lose all my downloaded music?

Yes, all downloaded music will be lost as this content is stored within the D’Music app. 

 

5.    Can I transfer my music and playlists to another music app?

Yes, you can transfer your music using a music transfer tool such as Soundiiz. You will need access and an active plan in D’Music to do this, so we advise that you transfer as soon as possible before your current plan expires. 

 

6.   What is Soundiiz?

Soundiiz is a web platform that allows you to transfer your playlists between Digital Streaming Platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. You can access it in the D’Music app in the My Music tab or you can go the website located here.  

 

7.    How do I use Soundiiz?

Soundiiz is very simple and easy to use. Simply follow the instructions given in these videos and you should be able to start transferring your playlists from D’Music to the new streaming app of your choice. 

 

8.    Are there any other apps that I can use to transfer my playlists?

Yes, there are other platforms that facilitate playlist transferring such as Tidal, Tune My Music or Free Your Music. We recommend Soundiiz. 

 

9.   Will Digicel offer any other music apps to listen to music?

Yes, GoLoud, a radio and podcast app is still available for music listening as part of your Prime Bundle.  

 

 

10.   Will other music streaming apps be added to my Prime Bundle?

Yes, data for streaming music on Spotify and Apple Music, two other digital music streaming platforms will now be added to Prime Bundles. 

 

11.   Will there be separate bundled data in the Prime Bundle plans for Spotify and Apple Music? 

No , there will be one allotment of bundled data for music streaming that will cover listening using either Spotify or Apple Music or the two apps simultaneously if both are installed on your mobile phone. 

 

12.  Will my Prime Bundle cost change? No, your Prime Bundle price will not change. See below for the Prime Bundles that will now include Spotify and Apple Music.

Spotify is an industry leading digital music streaming service with over 400M subscribers and includes over 82 million music tracks of varying genres and over 4 billion playlists created by qualifies music editors and users. 

 

14.  What is Apple Music?

Apple Music is a music, audio and video streaming service where users can select music to stream to their device on-demand, or they can listen to existing playlists. 

 

15.   How can I get Spotify?

Spotify is available for download in the Apple App store, Google Playstore or Huawei App Gallery. 

 

16.    How can I get Apple Music?

Apple Music is available for download in the Apple App store, Google Playstore or Huawei App Gallery. 

 

17.  How much memory space does the Spotify app use?

The Spotify app requires 139.8 MB of space on iOS Apple devices and 27MB of space on Android devices (Huawei space requirement to be advised) 

 

18.   How much memory space does the Apple Music app use?

The Apple Music app requires 150MB of space on Apple and Android devices (Huawei space requirement to be advised) 

 

19.  How much does Spotify cost?

Spotify gives 1 month free Premium access to first time users. After the free trial has expired, you can purchase Premium access through the following monthly plans or continue to use the app for FREE with limited access and ads. 

20.  How much does Apple Music cost?

Apple Music gives you 1 month free Premium access to first time users. After the free trial has expired, you can purchase Premium access through the following monthly plans.

 

 

21.   Will I be able to pay for a Spotify or Apple Music subscription with Digicel credit?

No, at this time you will not be able to pay for a subscription with Digicel credit. A credit card will be required to purchase a Spotify or Apple Music premium plan.

 

22.   If I cancel or do not renew my Prime Bundle, will I lose access to Spotify or Apple Music?

No, you will not lose access to either app, however, data for streaming in the Spotify and Apple Music app will come from your any use data or on Wi-Fi if you do not have mobile data access.

 

23. Can I opt out of Spotify or Apple Music and pay less for a Prime Bundle?

No, you cannot. Bundled data for Spotify and Apple Music will now be part of Prime Bundles

 

24.   Will there be a data plan for Spotify or Apple Music only? No there will not be a plan for streaming Spotify or Apple Music only.

 

25.  How much data will I get in my Prime Bundle to stream Spotify or Apple Music? The amount of data dedicated for streaming with Spotify or Apple Music will vary based on the Prime Bundle. Please see the table below: 

 

 

26.  I am already subscribed to Spotify, how can this change benefit me? Now that Spotify and Apple Music streaming is included in Prime Bundle plans, now you will dedicated data to listen to music anytime and save your anywhere data for other apps and browsing.

 

27.  Does a prime bundle now include a Spotify or Apple Music subscription as well?

No it does not. The Prime Bundle only includes dedicated data for music streaming using the Spotify or Apple Music app. 

 

28. I don’t use Spotify or Apple Music for streaming music, can I add the app that I use to the bundle?

At this time, only Spotify and Apple Music will be included in Prime Bundles for music streaming. Other digital streaming players may be added in the future.

 

29. Does Spotify of Apple Music have local radio?

No, Spotify does not have local radio. Local radio can be accessed using the GoLoud app which is also included in Prime Bundles.

 

30.  Does Spotify and Apple Music have local and regional artists like D’Music?

Yes, there is a vast music catalogue from local and regional artiste available in Spotify or Apple Music.

 

31. I am a post-paid customer. Do I get bundled data for streaming Spotify or Apple Music as well? Yes you will have data for streaming music with Spotify or Apple Music. See below for the post-paid plans that will now have Spotify and Apple Music data included.
