Thursday, 29 March 2018, Apia-Samoa – Digicel Samoa Limited today announced the payment of a WST$1,863,354 dividend to local shareholders, underpinning its commitment to Samoa and SNPF’s contributing members. The payment is the highest dividend payment made by Digicel Samoa Limited to date. Since 2012, Digicel has paid back WST $10.4 million to their local shareholders.
In thanking his hard working staff at the dividend handover at the Digicel Samoa Headquarters in Apia today Digicel Samoa CEO, Farid Mohammed, commented; “We are continually looking for ways to ensure that our customers and our communities benefit from our presence. As such, I must acknowledge the great passion and pride shown by our staff in Samoa as they worked to deliver these results over the past 12-months – and likewise the guidance and strategic support given by our board and management team. In recent months, Digicel has invested a significant amount in network infrastructure upgrades and is the first telecommunications company to switch on to the Tui Samoa cable. In addition, the Supa Seki data offer has taken the market by storm with customers enjoying the super-fast speeds and great value offers. Digicel is also active in the community with various grassroots sponsorships including medical outreach programmes as well as significant support in terms of humanitarian aid and relief supplies for people affected by Tropical Cyclone Gita last month.
