Monday, 17 December 2018 – Apia, Samoa – Digicel Samoa today announced a milestone sponsorship agreement has been signed for the 2019 Pacific Games which will be held in July next year. The official sponsor package for the 16th edition of the Games is valued at $3million Tala (USD$1.146m).
The sponsorship signing was made by the 2019 Samoa Pacific Games Organising Committee Chairman, Honourable Minister Loau Solamalemalo Keneti Sio with Digicel Samoa CEO, Farid Mohammed in Apia last Friday afternoon.
Digicel will be the official sponsor and exclusive telecommunication partner of the 2019 Pacific Games. Digicel was also the official sponsor of the 2017 Vanuatu Mini Games.
Digicel Samoa CEO, Farid Mohammed said, “We applaud the Government of Samoa’s bold commitment in securing another great opportunity for Samoa, to create history in being the first Pacific nation to host the Games twice, in less than 20 years. Digicel will provide all telecommunications needs for the Games, including wireless 4G+ superfast data at the Games village and all official games offices and venues.
