1.       What is this campaign about?

 

Digicel is now allowing you to pay Value Added Tax (“VAT”) upfront when purchasing Digicel vouchers instead of paying the VAT on your per minute calling rates.

 

 

2.       When will this take effect?

 

This change will take effect from 1st January, 2019.

 

 

3.       What is different when I purchase a voucher from 1st January, 2019?

 

You will now be paying the VAT on top of the denomination of the voucher you decide to purchase:

4.       How much credit will be added to my account when I purchase a voucher at the VAT inclusive price?

 

You should first note that the voucher prices have not been increased.  

 

How we apply the VAT to your voucher has now changed; we have simply applied the VAT to the voucher price instead of on your per minute calling rate.

 

Therefore, instead of paying the VAT for each minute you are on a call, you will pay the VAT at the point of purchase of your voucher.  

 

Whatever denomination voucher you purchase will be the value you receive in calling minutes (You would have already paid the VAT at the point of purchase):

5.       What is the per minute calling rate that I will now be charged?

 

Since you have already paid the VAT upfront you will be charged at the VAT ex. calling rate:

6.       If I purchase a voucher prior to 1st January, 2019 for $20 and apply it to my account on the 1st of January, how much credit will I receive?

 

Vouchers purchased prior to the date of this change will reflect the face value of the voucher and customers will be charged at the VAT Ex. calling rate.

 

 

7.       Does this change apply to both printed and plastic vouchers?

 

Yes, this change applies to both printed and plastic vouchers.

 

 

8.       What happens on 1st January, 2019 going forward to my credit on my account prior to this date?

 

 The balance remains as is and you are charged the VAT Ex. per minute calling rate.

 

 

9.       How will postpaid customers paying their bills via a top up voucher be affected?

 

The VAT Inc. value of what is paid at the point of purchase for a top up voucher is the amount that will be applied to the Postpaid bill.

 

 

10.   How will online top ups be affected?

 

You will pay the VAT upfront when purchasing top ups online instead of paying the VAT on your per minute calling rates.

 

 

11.   Does the credit expiration change?

 

No, credit expiration remains the same.
