What is Digicel Play?

Digicel Play is our 100% fibre-to-the-home network that uses the latest fibre optic technology to deliver best in class broadband, TV and home phone services to your home.


What is fibre-to-the-home and how is it different from regular internet?

Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) uses optical fibre or glass threads to send and receive data over long distances using light instead of electricity. Some providers use a combination of fibre and copper lines in their wiring and this can contribute to the inconsistency in broadband speeds and service that you may have come to know. Optical fibre is different from your old fashioned broadband that uses copper lines because it transmits data at much faster speeds and is not affected by high bandwidth consumption (congestion). This means that you experience the same incredible speeds whether your entire neighbourhood is online or just you. It also means that your broadband service will be unaffected by weather conditions.


Why should I choose Digicel Play?

Digicel Play offers one of the most technologically advanced, reliable solutions available in Trinidad and Tobago at an affordable price. This means you will no longer have your service limited by copper-based services, which are sometimes subject to weather conditions, since you will have virtually uncapped capacity from a single fibre cable in your home.


How can I get the service?

You can call us toll-free at 866-PLAY or 500 from your Digicel mobile. If your area is not yet eligible for service, you can pre-register by clicking the "Pre-Register" link at the top of this page.


What if I don’t live in a serviceable area?

We have a plan to change the broadband and TV market in Trinidad and Tobago so we are rolling out the most extensive fibre network in the country. When fully established, our 100% fibre-to-the-home network will cover 8 out of 10 households in the country. We will go live area by area over the coming months. Once you pre-register by using the "Pre-Register" link at the top of this page, we will keep you informed about when we are coming to your area. You can also influence how quickly we get to your area because the more expressions of interest we get from an area, the higher priority we will give it!


What is Digicel Play Fibre Broadband?

Digicel Play fibre broadband is our award-winning 100% fibre broadband service for the home in Trinidad and Tobago. We have the fastest speeds as recognized by Ookla and our network carries more data so everyone can upload, download, stream, surf and game at the fastest speeds from any device in the home, all at the same time - regardless of peak times or bad weather.


What does upload speed mean?

The upload speed is the number of megabits per second (Mbps) that your connection allows to travel from your computer to a website. Digicel Play offers you fibre broadband plans with upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps so everyone in your home can upload your largest files faster than ever before.


What does download speed mean?

The download speed is the number of megabits per second (Mbps) that your connection allows to travel from a website to your computer. Digicel Play offers you fibre broadband plans with download speeds of up to 200 Mbps. This means everyone in your home can seamlessly stream movies, listen to music, play games, download files and surf their favourite websites all at the same time at the speed of light.


What is Digicel Play TV?

Digicel Play TV is our digital TV service that is delivered to your home through our 100% fibre-to-the-home network. Our service offers an ultra-sharp picture quality with FREE HD channels and features you will love like Recordings, Multi-Screen, On Demand,Time Shift and Picture in Picture.


How much do Digicel Play fibre broadband and TV packages cost?

Does Digicel Play offer Broadband to businesses?

Do I have to change the TV wiring inside my home for Digicel Play’s services to work?

Yes, your current traditional copper wiring will need to be changed for you to be upgraded to the latest fibre technology. This will ensure the best possible quality throughout your home.


What happens if I terminate my Digicel Play service within the minimum period of 12 months?

If you cancel the agreement during the minimum period, Digicel Play reserves the right to charge an early termination fee. This fee is calculated based on our subsidized cost to you and will be $100 or part thereof for each month remaining on your contract period after you cancel.


What is the Digicel Play holiday plan?

The Holiday Plan was designed for customers who are part-time residents or customers who are leaving the country on holidays for an extended period. The Holiday Plan allows you to put your Digicel Play services “on holiday” while you’re away – at reduced rates - with no need to disconnect, no reconnection charge and no required service call when customers return. The plan can be activated for a maximum of three months. Your equipment will stay in your home while you’re away.


How often can I activate the holiday plan?

You may activate the Holiday Plan for a maximum of two times in one calendar year. The duration of each holiday plan is a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months. A minimum period of six months must have elapsed after a holiday plan has ended before another one can be activated.


How much does the holiday plan cost?

The Holiday Plan is available for $31.50 per month. Normal billing will resume automatically upon expiry of the Holiday Plan.


How do I activate the holiday plan?

To activate the Holiday Plan call us at 866-PLAY. Please note that any past due charges must be paid before the plan can be activated and the Holiday Plan charges must be paid in advance.
