EZ Roam Plans

1. What are the EZ Roam Plans about?

 

  • These are plans which will allow Digicel Prepaid and Postpaid mobile customers to take advantage of lower rates for voice and data when roaming in various destinations (as set out below) including US, Canada, UK, DigiRoam Territories and more.

2. What can I get with these plans?

You can get the following with any of these plans:

  • Free incoming calls and free incoming text messages

  • Bundle minutes

  • Data bundles

  • Reduced data overage rate of $2.00 (VAT exclusive) per MB until plan expires

  • Rate of $1.00 (VAT exclusive) per outgoing text message

 

3. What are the various EZ Roam Plans that are available?

The following are the EZ Roam Plans available:

  • You can activate these plans by dialing *323# or via the My Digicel App.

  • No

6. In what countries can I use these plans?

  • The EZ Roam Plans can be used in the following countries (“EZ Roam Destinations”):

7. What countries can I call with the bundle minutes in these plans?

  • The bundle minutes are applicable to:

  • calls to any Trinidad and Tobago number;

  • calls to numbers of the particular EZ Roam Destination that is visited; and  

  • calls to DigiRoam Territories*.   

*DigiRoam Territories are Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Dominica, El Salvador, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Panama, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname, Turks and Caicos.

8. What happens if my bundle minutes are finished but my EZ Roam Plan has not expired?

You will be charged the following rates if your plan is still valid but your bundle minutes have finished:

  • Call rate of $1.50 (VAT exclusive) per minute will be charged for calls to any Trinidad and Tobago number, calls to numbers of the particular EZ Roam Destination that is visited and calls to DigiRoam Territories

  • Call rates of $2.00 (VAT exclusive) per minute will be charged for calls to any  ‘Rest of the World’ Destinations*

* ‘Rest of the World’ Destination is any destination other than Trinidad and Tobago, DigiRoam Territories, Satellite phones and Very Expensive Destinations**.

  • Call rates of $15.00 (VAT exclusive) per minute will be charged for calls to Very Expensive Destinations**

**Very Expensive Destinations are Cuba, Afghanistan, American Samoa, Angola, Antarctica Australian Territory, Armenia, Ascension Island, Azerbaijan, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Cook Island, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Korea (North), Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mauritius, Myanmar, Micronesia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, New Brunei, New Caledonia, Niger, Nigeria, Niue Islands, Norfolk Islands, Pakistan, Reunion Is, Russia, Rwanda, Saipan, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Western Sahara, Sudan, Swaziland, Syria, Tunisia, Togo, Tokelau, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Wake Island, Yemen, Zimbabwe, The Democratic Republic Of The Congo and Northern Mariana Islands.

  • Call rates of $50.00 (VAT exclusive) per minute will be charged for calls to Satellite phones

 

9. How can I check my allotted bundle minutes and data?

  • You can dial *120*152# to check your bundle data

  • You can dial *120*151# to check your bundle minutes

N.B Minutes and data bundle usage may not be updated real time while roaming in certain countries.

10. What happens if my data has depleted but my plan has not yet expired?

  • You will be charged an overage rate of $2.00 (VAT exclusive) per MB until the plan expires.

11. Do I get free incoming calls in all the EZ Roam Destinations (including Haiti, Jamaica and Guyana) with these EZ Roam Plans?

  • Yes.

12. Will my EZ Roam Plan auto-renew?

  • No. You will, however, receive a message prior to the expiry of the plan asking whether you would like to renew your plan, at which point you can opt to renew.

13. Will I still be able to activate the One Rate Roaming Plan or the Caribbean Roaming Passport?

  • The Caribbean Roaming Passport will still be available.

  • The One Rate Roaming Plan is being discontinued and will not be available after 1st March, 2019, however, if you have an active One Rate Roaming Plan as at 1st March, 2019, that plan will continue until its expiry date.

  • The One Rate Roaming Plan will not auto-renew after 1st March, 2019.

14. What happens if I use my phone in a roaming destination that is not an EZ Roam Destination?

  • If you are a Prepaid or a Postpaid customer roaming in a country not listed as an EZ Roam  Destination, you will charged at the standard Pay As You Go roaming rates even if you have an EZ Roam Plan active.

15. (a) If I have a Caribbean Roaming Passport active, can I also activate an EZ Roam Plan as well?

  • Yes, you can have both plans activated simultaneously, however, the Caribbean Roaming Passport will take precedence over the EZ Roam Plan.

      (b) If I have both the Caribbean Roaming Passport and an EZ Roam Plan active while in the US, will I get to use the EZ Roam plan?

  • Yes; only the EZ Roam Plan is applicable in the US.

16. If I activate a 7 Day EZ Roam Bundle can I, at the same time, activate a 30 Day EZ Roam Bundle?

  • Yes.  Whilst you are on an existing EZ Roam Plan you can activate a higher value EZ Roam Plan (but not a lower value EZ Roam Plan) and the remaining minutes and/or the remaining data on the existing EZ Roam Plan will be added to the higher value plan and the validity period of the plan will be extended to the expiry date of the higher value plan.

17. Will my remaining data and minutes bundle rollover if I opt to renew my plan?

  • Yes, the remaining minutes and data will rollover once you opt to renew your EZ Roam Plan.

18. Which Network/s can I use to benefit from these EZ Roam Plans whilst roaming?

  • Prepaid customers can only utilize roaming services (i.e. voice, sms and data) under the EZ Roam Plans via Networks listed with a “y” in the column entitled “Prepaid customers” in the table below.

  • Prepaid roaming is currently not available in Germany, Israel, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, US Virgin Islands and Venezuela.

  • Postpaid customers can utilize voice and sms roaming services under the EZ Roam Plans via all Networks listed in the table below.

  • Postpaid customers can utilize data roaming services only under the EZ Roam Plans via Networks listed with a “y” in the column entitled “Data” in the table below.

  • EZ Roam Plans can only be used on a Digicel network when roaming in the DigiRoam Territories.

  • LTE data roaming is available in DigiRoam Territories only where LTE is available on the Digicel network within that DigiRoam Territory.

19. Can I activate an EZ Roam Plan whilst I am roaming?

  • Yes, you can utilize the My Digicel App for FREE (i.e. you will not be charged any data charges when you use the My Digicel App) or dial *323# to activate an EZ Roam Plan whilst roaming.

20. If I have reached my credit limit as a Postpaid customer, can I request a temporary credit limit Increase to use an EZ Roam Plan?

  • Yes. You can call our Customer Care to make this request by dialing 1-868-399-9998 at no charge.

21. As a prepaid customer who is roaming, how can I top up my account if my credit has depleted?

As a prepaid customer, you can use the following method to top up whilst roaming:

22. Can bonus credit be used for roaming (to make and/or receive calls and data roam)?

  • No. Bonus credit cannot be used for roaming.

23. If I use Wi-Fi will I be charged whilst roaming?

  • No. You will not be charged whilst using Wi-Fi when you roam.

24. Can I deactivate the EZ Roam Plan before it has expired?

  • In order to deactivate an EZ Roam Plan immediately, you will have to call our Customer Care by dialing 1-868-399-9998 at no charge.

  • You can also opt-out of renewing the EZ Roam Plan by responding to the renewal message that is sent prior to expiry of the plan.

25. Additional Terms and Conditions:

  • The EZ Roam Plans are for the personal use of individuals and not commercial use or usage by groups of individuals. Any usage at all by an individual that in Digicel’s sole discretion is intended for financial gain or profit by you or by groups of individuals will result in the immediate termination of the plans.

  • Digicel reserves the right to terminate EZ Roam Plans if in its sole opinion the plans offered are being abused.

  • Digicel reserves the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily) any of these plans being offered to its customer at its discretion.

  • Digicel reserves the right to at any time, with or without the notice, to vary or cancel the terms and conditions of the EZ Roam Plans. In the event of Digicel giving notice to customers of any such changes to or cancellation of EZ Roam Plans, it shall suffice for Digicel to give customers notice via messages to customer’s handset/device or to post such notification on Digicel’s website. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notification.

  • Customers should be solely responsible for keeping their mobile handset properly secured and for all activations and other activities that occur on or through their mobile handsets. Any request made via the use of the USSD code from a mobile handset shall be deemed a legitimate request from the customer to whom the said mobile handset is registered. Digicel shall not be responsible for any losses arising out of the unauthorized use of a customer’s handset.

  • Subject to the above, Digicel’s standard Prepaid Terms and Conditions shall apply.

Caribbean Roaming Passport

1.  What is Roaming Passport?

  • This service allows customers the ability to limit their roaming charges by paying a subscription fee of $223.88 (corporate or general postpaid & prepaid customers) VAT Inclusive for unlimited calls, sms and data browsing while roaming in DigiRoam Territories.

2How do I sign up for the Roaming Passport?

·               Simply dial *147# from your handset from any location

3.  What services are available under this plan?

·               Free Calls to home (Digicel TT, TSTT fixed, TSTT mobile, FLOW fixed) whilst roaming in any DigiRoam Territory

·         Free Incoming Calls from anywhere whilst roaming in almost any DigiRoam Territory (except Guyana and Haiti)

·         Free Data Browsing in all DigiRoam Territories

·         Free SMS to other DigiRoam Territories whilst roaming in DigiRoam Territory

4. Can a customer make free calls to other Digicel Markets while roaming; including the one the customer is roaming in?

·         No, the customer cannot make free calls to other Digicel markets even the one they are roaming in. Customers only have unlimited outgoing calls to any number in their home country.

5. How does this differ from the roaming services offered by the other network?

·         We would be the only provider offering a Roaming Plan

·         Bmobile offers free incoming calls whilst in 13 other Caribbean markets where Bmobile operates. We would offer this in 24 DigiRoam destinations

POSTPAID & PREPAID

7.       How does the customer sign up for this?

·         Customer dials the USSD string *147# to sign up for this Bolt On.

8.       How long will this plan last for general prepaid and postpaid customers?

·         This plan will last 7 Days.

9.       How does the customer pay for this service?

·         Postpaid customers charge of $223.88 (Vat Inc) will be added to the bill of the cycle that the plan is activated in.

·         Prepaid customers will have to top up their account with the amount $223.88 (Vat Inc.) before dialing the USSD code to activate the plan.

10.   Does the plan automatically renew?

·         No, the plan will not renew automatically. It will automatically terminate at the end of the 7 day period. Customers will have to send the initial code to sign up for another 7 days.

11.   Can the customer have this canceled after Roaming for a shorter period of time e.g. 4 days?

·         No, this plan will last for 7 days and cannot be deactivated during this time.

12.   As a general postpaid customer if the customer does not have sufficient Credit Limit to compensate for this Bolt On service what happens?

·         The Customer will be Credit Limit barred.  It is important that the Agent ensures that the customer’s CL matches the Bolt On service the customer subscribes to before activating the plan.

13.   If a general postpaid customer, becomes Credit Limit barred will they be able use their Bolt On Service?

·         Yes they will be able to use their Bolt On services if they are Credit Limit Barred.

14.   Can the customer use their prepaid bonus credit to activate this?

·         No, bonus credit cannot be used for this.

15.   Can the customer text UK, US and Canada for free while roaming?

·         No, once they are roaming in any DigiRoam Territory they can send SMS only to DigiRoam mobiles for FREE.

16.   Can the customer receive free incoming calls from anywhere?

·         Yes they can receive free incoming calls from anywhere once they are roaming in any DigiRoam Territory except Guyana.

17.   What services can the customer use while roaming in Guyana?

·         Unlimited SMS, data browsing and free calls to home can be accessed while roaming in Guyana. The only plan that does not apply to Guyana is Free Incoming calls whilst roaming there.

18.   Can the customer activate this plan while roaming?

·         Yes, as long as you have successfully registered to a Digicel network while roaming you will be able to use the USSD string. Customers should turn off their mobile data before activating plan and turn it back on after confirmation that the plan has been activated successfully.

CORPORATE

1.       How does the customer sign up for this?

·         Request can be made through customer’s corporate representative to have the plan activated for them.

·         Corporate sales must explain and get a signed agreement before corporate activations team add the bolt on.

2.       Can the customer sign up for this at any time during the cycle?

·         Yes, sign ups can be done at any time during the cycle but the customer will have to pay the full price. I.e. The cost of the plan will not be prorated no matter when the plan is activated.

3.       How long will this Bolt On last?

·         Roaming Passport bolt-on will last 30 days however the customer must have plan activated for a minimum of 3 months i.e. Customer plan will renew at least 3 times.

4.       What is the cost of this Bolt On?

·         This Bolt On cost $223.88 vat inclusive for corporate customers.

5.       If the customer does not have sufficient Credit Limit to compensate for this Bolt On service what happens?

·         You will be Credit Limit barred.  It is imperative that you ensure that the customer’s CL matches the Bolt On service the customer subscribes to before activating the plan.

6.       If the customer becomes Credit Limit barred will they be able use their Bolt On Services?

·         Yes they will be able to use their Bolt On services if they are Credit Limit Barred.

7.       Can the customer have this canceled after Roaming for 2 weeks?

·         No, this plan will last 30 days and must be activated on the account for 3 months minimum. No request will be facilitated to have it deactivated until after this time

·         Corporate Sales rep must validate that the customer has had the plan for 3 months before deactivating.
