WHY DO I NEED A CREDIT LIMIT?
Sometimes you use more data than you intended to – it happens. Sometimes life requires more data, more minutes or even a roaming pass. Your credit limit gives you the ability to control your monthly bill while allowing you the flexibility to purchase add-ons or still get service when you deplete your bundles.
WHICH CREDIT LIMIT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
You can decide to have your bill never cross the value of your Credit Limit. It’s your choice; choose a credit limit that suits your pocket size. The lowest credit limit that you can choose is equivalent to the subscription fee of the plan, plus VAT plus an overage allowance of $100.
You decide to take the Postpaid M Plan where your monthly fee is $199 plus VAT; your minimum credit limit will be $323.88 (monthly fee + $100 in allowable overage +12.5% VAT).
You can also decide to choose a credit limit higher than your monthly fee, up to $3,000*. If you require a Credit Limit beyond $3,000 please contact our Customer Care for support, by dialing 100 from your mobile phone or by email – firstname.lastname@example.org
HOW CAN I GET A DIFFERENT CREDIT LIMIT?
You can agree to any Credit Limit at the dealer store upon activation of your postpaid plan; however, limits over $500 are subject to Digicel’s credit check process. Your account would be activated at the $500 credit limit application and the higher limit would be applied to your account upon successful credit clearance. If you need any further clarification, you can contact our Customer Care by simply dialing 100 from your mobile. Customer verification would be required on the call to authorise your credit limit increase.
HOW CAN I GET A TEMPORARY CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE?
Now you can instantly request a $100 temporary credit limit increase by simply dialing *216# from your mobile. A $5 fee applies. An SMS confirmation will be sent once you qualifiy. Temporary changes will last for the period of the existing bill cycle. Your account must be in good standing and you must be a postpaid customer for at least 2 months to qualify.
HOW CAN I GET A PERMANENT CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE?
You can call 100 for Customer Care from your mobile to request a higher credit limit. The credit limit will be applied to your account within 24 hours and an agent will contact you once the change is made. Again, credit limits over $500 are subject to Digicel’s credit check process and customer verification will be required to authorise your credit limit increase.
CAN I GET ALERTS ON HOW MUCH OF MY CREDIT LIMIT IS STILL AVAILABLE?
We have inserted alert messages to advise you when you are coming close to your requested credit allowance. When you reach 75% and 95% of your credit limit, you are sent a text message advising that you are near your limit. This helps you to measure your usage for the rest of the month, or to request a higher credit limit on your account.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I REACH MY CREDIT LIMIT?
One-Way Barred: When you have reached your credit limit, you are one-way barred. You will not be able to make calls, send texts etc., outside of their bundle plans. However, you will still be able to receive calls and text messages.
One-way barring occurs when you use services outside of your plan. Even if your credit limit is barred, you may still have bundled minutes and texts and will be able to use those. But you would not be able to use services outside of the bundle e.g. international calls.
