1. What is a Credit Limit?

Credit Limit allows postpaid customers the ability to control the amount they spend on their postpaid bill. You have several choices for your Credit Limit, so you can choose the most affordable option for you.

2. Which credit limit should I choose?

It’s your choice - choose a credit limit that suits your lifestyle. The lowest credit limit that you can choose is equivalent to the subscription fee of the plan plus VAT. You decide that you want your bill to never cross the value of your plan.

Example:

You decide to take the Postpaid Talk and Text Super Plan where your monthly fee is $249 plus VAT; your credit limit is now equal to $286.35 (monthly fee plus 15% VAT). You can also decide to choose a credit limit higher than your monthly fee, up to $3,000. If you require a credit limit beyond $1,000 you are asked to contact our customer care for support.

3. How can I get a different Credit Limit?

*You can agree to any credit limit at the dealer store, however limits over $500 are subject to Digicel’s credit check process. Your account would be activated at the $500 credit limit application and the higher limit would be applied to your account upon successful credit clearance.

If you need any further clarification you can contact our Customer Care, simply dial 100 from your mobile. Customer verification would be required on the call to authorise the credit limit increase.

*Temporary changes will last for the period of your existing bill cycle. 

4. What are the available Credit Limits?

The following table shows the postpaid plans available at our dealer stores and the available credit limits for each of these plans.

5. Would my monthly bill ever be more than the Credit Limit?

Yes it can happen. If you are roaming abroad to some destinations with your postpaid phone, there may be a delay in applying roaming charges and as such you may incur charges in excess of your credit limit which you are liable to pay. These charges would be presented in your monthly bill summary. Please check our website for more information on these destinations and to avoid bill shock.

6. Can I get alerts on how much of my Credit Limit is still available?

We have inserted alert messages to advise you when you are coming close to your requested credit allowance. When you reach 75% and 95% of your credit limit, you are sent a text message advising that you are near your limit. This helps you to measure your usage for the rest of the month, or to request a higher credit limit on your account.

7. What happens when I reach my Credit Limit?

Upon reaching 100% of your credit limit, you will be one-way barred i.e. you will not be able to make calls, send sms SMS or use data. If you do have remaining voice minutes, SMS or Data within your monthly plan bundle, you can still use and enjoy these until the end of the billing month. You would not be able to make calls, send texts, use data or purchase products, outside of the bundled plan. You can also still receive calls and text messages whilst being one-way barred; you just cannot use services outside of the bundle.

8. How can I request a change to my Credit Limit?

You can send an email to creditlimitchange.tt@digicelgroup.com to request a change to their credit limit. Customers must supply the following information in the email (Please include in the subject of the email ‘Increase’ or ‘decrease’ depending on request)

  1. Name on Account
  2. Phone Number
  3. Security Q&A 

Changes will be made in 24 to 48 hours once the qualifying criteria is met. A confirmation SMS will be sent to customers once the change has been made.

OR

Customers can also call 100 for Customer Care from your mobile to request a change in their credit limit.

*A customer’s account must be in good standing for a minimum of 3 months.
