What is parental control?

Parental Control is a great feature that will allow you to control the type of content that can be viewed in your home by channel, rating or time. Watch this video to learn more about Parental Controls and how to use it.


Where can I find my parental control password?

Your Parental Control password is the same as your TV PIN and can be found on the inside cover of the 'Guide to Getting Started' given to you at installation. If you can't find your PIN, call us at 866-PLAY or dial 500 from your Digicel mobile.


How do I change my TV PIN?

Your TV PIN is also your parental control password and can be changed by following these simple steps:

  1. Press the 'Main Menu' button on your Digicel remote
  2. Select 'Settings'
  3. Select 'Parental Controls'
  4. Enter your current TV PIN
  5. Select 'Change TV PIN'
  6. Enter your new TV PIN
  7. Press OK to Save

What will I need my TV PIN to do?

You will need your TV PIN to lock or unlock a channel and make changes to your parental control settings.


How do I lock a channel?

It's easy! Simply find the channel you want to lock on the TV guide, make sure it is highlighted and then press the green button on your remote. You will be prompted to enter your TV PIN to confirm your request. Once confirmed, a lock icon will appear next to the channel name.


How do I unlock a channel?

Find the channel you want to unlock on the TV guide - it should have a lock icon next to the channel name - highlight it then press the green button on your remote. You will be prompted to enter your TV PIN to confirm your request. Once accepted, the lock icon will disappear indicating that the channel is now unlocked.


  • Press the Main Menu button
  • Select Settings
  • Parental Controls will already be selected, so just press OK
  • Enter your TV PIN when prompted.
  • ‘Set Rating Restrictions’ will already be highlighted, so just press OK 
  • Choose the rating you want to enforce from the list provided. 

Reminder: Ratings restrictions will be enforced 24 hours a day by default. So, to watch a programme that has been assigned a rating that matches your set restriction you will need to enter your TV PIN.


Can I change the time frame during which a rating is enforced?

Of course! By default, rating restrictions are enforced 24 hours a day but you can easily change the time to suit your homes needs.

  • Press the Main Menu button
  • Select Settings
  • Parental Controls will already be selected, so just press OK
  • Enter your TV PIN when prompted.
  • Select 'Set Time Restrictions
  • Choose the time you want your rating restriction enforced

Reminder: You will need to enter your TV PIN to watch a programme that matches the set rating restriction during the chosen time frame.


What happens if I enter my TV PIN incorrectly?

You will have three attempts to enter the correct TV PIN. If you enter it incorrectly after the third try, you will have to wait thirty (30) minutes before you can try again. If you have forgotten your TV PIN, just give us a call and we will be happy to help.


Will my parental control settings apply to both Live TV and On Demand?

Yes it will. Your parental control settings will apply to all content regardless of whether you are watching Live TV, On Demand or using our Multi-Screen feature.
