Digicel Tonga confirm supporting of the annual Miss Heilala Pageant. The Miss Heilala Pageant is one of the main events that is hosted annually in the main island Tongatapu were its attracts visitors from across the world to visit Tonga. The Miss Heilala has the idea of female contestant competing against each other through their traditional outfits, interview, talents and other categories. The pageant is expected to commence on the 1st – 6th July following with a parade on the 4th July and to mark the celebrate of the 60th Birthday of His Majesty’s King Tupou VI.
With the Miss Heilala Pageant week there are other events included such as Tonga’s Got Talent at Digicel Square, block party and the 4th July Fun Fair along Vuna road. The Miss Heilala contestant is now at 25 participants with contestant from overseas and so as local talents involve. The Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Heilala committee, Mr Semisi Lafu Kioa Sika, thanked Digicel for the support over the years on Miss South Pacific 2018 and now moving over to also support the Miss Heilala Pageant 2019. He also mentioned that this will mark a firm relationship of the Ministry of Tourism with Digicel Tonga and hoping to prolong for any future support. The sponsorship presentation was assisted by the Marketing Manager for Digicel Tonga, Ms Ragigia Dawai and the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the Heilala committee, Mr Semisi Lafu Kioa Sika.
