As a result of the Aspire Leadership Program, Dennis & Ragigia of Digicel Tonga invited staff to an ENGAGE & LEARN session last Friday with Tonga’s Rugby League star, Konrad Hurrell.
Team Tonga gathered in the office boardroom to hear directly from Konrad on ‘team work and engagement’ through his journey in the lead up to the Rugby League World Cup with Mate Ma’a Tonga last year.
“Koni” as he’s commonly known here in Tonga has an infectious sense of humour and is a favorite for many because of his personality on and off the field. The 27 year old grew up in Tonga before he started his rugby profession with NZ Warriors and now plays for the Gold Coast Titans. His story broke the room in silence as Team Digicel could relate to his upbringing, family principles, focus on God and challenges he faced that shaped his career but added value to the journey with the National team in the lead up to the RLWC. His key message was ‘never give up’ – remember your roots, your country, get up and try again.
The Engage and Learn session has helped bring together the team in improving Workplace Culture.
