Thursday March 29th 2017: Young Entrepreneurs Council (YEC) an International Labour Organisation Model, which is already established in Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Is and now is under way in Tonga.
The purpose of YEC is to develop into a national advocacy and technical council under the national private sector/employers’ organisation, that builds the evidence base to creatively engage with policy makers, via the national platform, to effect positive change aimed at incentivising and prompting business and employment aspirations of current and future young entrepreneurs.
YEC Tonga will be based within the Tongan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI) and registration campaign will be launched via print and social media in Mid-May, calling for current young entrepreneurs to register". Digicel Tonga has come on board as a support partner with the SMS Platform for Registration and helping to drive awareness for YEC in the market.
