1.       What are the new postpaid Freedom Plans?

Digicel’s Postpaid Freedom Plans are bundles that are available to all new and existing Digicel customers.  You can choose from 4 Freedom plans, each with unlimited Digicel talk, unlimited Digicel texts and lots of data.

 

2.       Why did Digicel add new Postpaid Freedom bundled plans?

Digicel introduced new postpaid Freedom bundled plans to offer customers:

a.       Bundled plans that are very rich in data

b.       Better value for their money

 

3.       Why should I sign up for, or migrate to a new postpaid Freedom bundled plan?

You should sign up for, or migrate to a new postpaid Freedom bundled plan if:

a.       You use a lot of data

b.       If you need unlimited Digicel minutes and SMS to stay in contact with family and friends

 

4.       Where does my Anywhere Voice minutes allow me to call?

Your Anywhere voice minutes allow you to call local cross net, US, Can, UK landlines and Digicel Territories (see below).

5.       Where does my Specific Int’l voice minutes allow me to call?

Your Specific Int’l voice minutes allow you to call Haiti Digicel mobile and the Dominican Republic

 

6.       Can I call the Bahamas, or the Philippines, with my Specific Int’l minutes?

No, you cannot call the Bahamas, or Philippines with your Specific Int’l minutes; however, you can whatsapp call them at very low rates from you data bundle.

 

7.       What will happen if I use up all my Specific Int’l voice minutes?

If you use up all your Specific Int’l voice minutes before the billing period ends, you can:

a.       Continue using minutes via your assigned credit limit. However, if you exceed your credit limit you will be one-way barred.

b.       Increase your credit limit up to twice your deposit

c.       If your bill is paid in advance, the credit balance on your account will offset the following months’ subscription fee which will prevent service interruptions.

 

8.       How do I activate the new Freedom bundle plans?

To activate any of the Freedom plans, activate the postpaid account as usual.  Under the Ratings tab select the appropriate new Freedom bundle plan.  All features of the plans will be automatically added to all plans, except the Max plan.

 

Additionally for the Max plan, you are required to manually select the Roaming feature.   To do so, enable the Bolt On Postpaid Max Roam Data Service then, add the Postpaid Max Roaming Data Bundle auxiliary.

9.       Is there a fair usage policy, or cap under the unlimited specifications for the Freedom plans?

There is no cap, or fair usage policy applied to voice calls and SMS under the unlimited specification for Freedom plans.

 

10.   What happens if all my allotted voice and data bundles are exhausted before the end of the billing cycle?

If all your allotted voice and data bundles are exhausted before the end of the billing cycle, prevailing overage voice and data rates are applicable (see appendix 1), or you can purchase an Add-On

11.   Do the Freedom plans come with unlimited SMS?

No, the Freedom plans come with unlimited local Digi to Digi SMS messages.  However,Off Net and International SMS will be charged at the prevailing PAYGO SMS rates (see Appendix 1).

 

12.   Is roaming included in any of the Freedom plans?

Yes, Roam Like You Home subscription is included in the Postpaid Max plan for roaming in US, Can and Digicel Regional territories; plus 1 GB of roaming specific data for roaming use in US, UK (Excluding Channel Island and Isle of Man), Jamaica and Canada.

 

13.   Is unlimited whatsapp included in the Freedom plans?

Yes, unlimited whatsapp messaging is included in all Freedom plans.  However, whatsapp voice notes, and video calls will be deducted from data bundle.

 

14.   Are any other extras included in my Freedom plans?

Yes, D’Music Premium Subscription is included in all the Freedom plans.  However, streaming will be deducted from your data bundle.

 

15.   What happens to my package if I am on one of the old postpaid plans?

If you are on one of the old plans, you can remain on the plan that you initially signed up for, or you can upgrade to one of our new postpaid plans

 

16.   Will I be able to switch from one of the new postpaid plans to a legacy postpaid plan?

Unfortunately, once you have activated one of the new postpaid Freedom plans, you will not be able to revert to any of the plans previously offered by Digicel.

 

17.   Will my unused minutes and data from my old postpaid plan rollover to the new postpaid plan?

No.  Your unused minutes and data from your old postpaid plan will not rollover to your new postpaid plan.

 

18.   Do the minutes and data from the new postpaid plan rollover indefinitely?

No, the minutes and data from the new postpaid plans do not rollover indefinitely. They will only rollover from one month to the next month as long as your account remains in an active state (active and warned).

 

19.   Can I sign up for any of the old postpaid plans?

No, the old postpaid plans will no longer be available.  You can sign up, or upgrade to one of the new Freedom plans.

 

20.   Will I get a warning message will my voice and data bundles are almost depleted.

Yes, you will get messages notifying you when your bundle is 70%, 90% and 100% depleted.

 

21.   How can I purchase an Add-on?

You can purchase an Add-on by visiting any of our retail stores, or MDA.

 

22.   How often can I purchase the Add-Ons?

You can purchase as many Add-Ons as you like.  Add-Ons remain on your account for 30 Days, or until you request it to be removed.

 

23.   What is the security deposit required for these new Freedom plans?

The security deposit required for the new Freedom plans is equivalent to one month’s subscription fee.

24.   What requirements do new applicants need to sign up to one of the new postpaid Freedom plans?

Business requirements for new customers include:

·         Signed contract

·         Valid Government issued ID

·         Cleared internal credit checks (i.e. no existing postpaid account is in applicant’s name with outstanding balance)

·         Deposit for the respective Freedom plan

 

25.   How do I check my bundled minutes and data?

You can check you bundled minutes and data via *130#, or MDA

 

26.   Can I use my Freedom plan with any handset?

Yes, as long as your handset is compatible with the following band on the Digicel network:

a.       LTE Bands 4 & 17

b.       HSPA band 1900

c.       GSM band 900

 

27.   Am I able to use the voice, data and SMS from bundles while I roaming?

No, if you activate a Freedom plan and you travel out of the TCI you will not be able to use any of your minutes, data, or SMS from your plan.  You will be required to activate a roaming plan in order to make calls, text and or/use data.  Charges incurred while roaming will be in addition to your subscription.

 

28.   Are premium services, such as toll free numbers included in the new Freedom bundle plans?

No, PAYGO charges apply to all premium services (including toll free numbers, regularly chargeable service numbers).
