PREPAID & POST PAID ROAMING

Tell me about roaming with Digicel.

Digicel offers roaming for all our customers, whether you’re a prepaid customer or a postpaid customer when you are travelling outside of your home country. Digicel’s roaming allows you to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS and conduct data activities.

1. How do I Roam as a Digicel Prepaid Customer?

As a Digicel Prepaid customer, please ensure that you top up your account with sufficient credit before you travel. If you attempt to make a call and you do not have sufficient credit, you will hear a ‘low balance’ tone and your call will not be connected. To check your balance while roaming, dial *120#.

You can also top up at our Digicel Top-up Outlets in Selected countries, or you can use our Online Top up Service at https://online-top-up.digicelgroup.com/en-NR/ or you can download our Digicel App for Top up on PlayStore for Android devices or on iTunes AppStore on Apple Devices.

2. How do I Roam as a Digicel Post Paid Customer?

As a Digicel Post Paid customer, you will first need to ensure that your account is activated for roaming. If it is not activated, simply go to Network Selection in your handset and select ‘AUTOMATIC’ before you travel. Once you have reached your destination, switch your phone on and allow it to update and locate Digicel’s partner network in that country.

You will also need to increase your minimum deposit, which you can do by visiting your nearest Digicel Point.

3. My handset does not pick up the network automatically once I’ve reached my destination. How do I fix that?

For some handset type, you might need to manually select the network. To do this, go to Menu Network Selection, select MANUAL then connect to the network.

4. How do I contact Customer Care while I’m roaming?

To contact Customer Care while you are roaming, please dial +674 556 0124.

5. How do I access my voicemail while roaming?

To access voicemail, dial +674 556 0555. You will then be requested to enter your mobile number and password.  If you can’t remember your password, please call Customer Care on +674 556 0123. Please note that checking your voicemail will incur similar calling rates as if you were calling a Digicel number.

6. Will I be able to benefit from local promotions while roaming?

No. You will not be able to benefit from local promotions while roaming.

7. What rates apply when roaming?

All voice calls are charged on a per minute basis

All rates quoted are in AUD dollars

For Digicel Select customers, calls not shown will be charged at Digicel's cost

For Digicel Flex Prepaid customers, calls to countries other than a local or home country will be charged at the home country rate plus an additional $1 per minute

 

8. Does Digicel have a roaming bundle and how does it work?

As a Digicel Prepaid customer, you can opt in to Digicel’s roaming rate bundle for a subscription fee while roaming in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. There are 4 bundles available for you to choose from according to your length of stay and your usage.

The bundles and associated subscription fees are:

9. How do I activate the Digicel Roaming Bundle?

Digicel Prepaid customers can activate their Call Home Roaming bundle by simply dialling *151# to activate your plan with Digicel.

10. How do I keep track of my bundle to know when it has expired?

You will receive a notification when your Digicel Roaming bundle has expired. If you don’t opt in another bundle, regular roaming rates will be applied.

11. How does Call Home Roaming Bundle work?

Call Home Roaming Plan allows Digicel Prepaid customers to purchase a Call Home roaming bundle to enjoy the best rates while you are in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

12. My credit limit is barred – what can be done?

You will need to make a payment to your Post Paid account to reduce the balance owing to an amount below your credit limit.
