Digicel is celebrating 19 years of service in the Cayman Islands through the “19 Anniversary Promo” (the “Promotion”). The promotion offers new and existing subscribers a chance to win prizes throughout the month of March.
These Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes. You should read these FAQs and Terms carefully before participating in the Promotion.
“We” or “us” means Digicel Cayman Limited, a company registered under the laws of the Cayman Islands with registered offices at 115 Printer Way, George Town, Grand Cayman. References to “we”, “our” and “us” in these Terms also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.
“I” or “you” means the person participating in the Promotion (and “my” and “your” shall have the same meaning).
By participating in the Promotion, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms, or if you are under the age of thirteen (13), you should stop participating in the Promotion immediately.
1. What is the Digicel “ 19 Anniversary” Promotion?
This promotion aims to celebrate Digicel’s 19 years of service in the Cayman Islands by incorporating all new and existing subscribers. Digicel is offering all customers a chance to win prizes throughout the month of March by completing any of the activities listed at Item 3 below (“Activities”).
2. When does the Promotion start and end?
The Promotion is valid from March 3, 2023, through to March 31, 2023 (the “Promotional Period”).
3. Can I take part in the Promotion?
To be eligible for the promotion, subscribers must meet one of the following requirements:
a) Prepaid subscribers must:
i) Purchase a plan
ii) Top up $10.00 or more
iii) Switch to Digicel
b) Postpaid subscribers must:
i) Signup to a plan
ii) Activate a Roaming Bundle
iii) Pay your bill using MDA on time
iv) Switch to Digicel
c) Digicel+ subscribers must:
i) Subscribe to D+ Services, including TDD Service
ii) Digicel+ Home Broadband service
iii) Upgrade to a TV package
The following persons cannot claim any prizes in the Promotion:
a. Any person who, at any time on or after March 3, 2023 was or is a director, officer, employee, or agent of Digicel or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, or affiliated companies, franchisees or service agencies, independent contractors or suppliers of services to Digicel;
b. Any person who is not a legal resident of the markets in which Digicel operates; and
c. Any person under the age of 13.
4. How does the Promotion work?
Follow the below steps to participate in the Promotion:
Step 1: Complete any of the following activities (“Activities”):
a. Activate a Prime Bundle plan
b. Create a new postpaid account
c. Pay your postpaid bill in full
d. Switch your mobile number to Digicel
e. Sign up for Digicel+
f. Purchase a handset
Step 2: Click the SMS link:
A link will be sent to you via SMS within 48 hours of completing an Activity, inviting you to enter our daily prize draw for a chance to win a daily prize. When the participant clicks on the link, they will be redirected to the campaign website.
Step 3: Complete the entry form:
The participant will be prompted to complete the entry form by providing basic registration details (Name, Phone, Email Address and confirmation of activity (check eligibility list)). Once the entry form has been submitted, a screen will pop-up to display:
a. Confirmation of entry into the daily prize draw;
b. More ways to enter and win;
c. The available prizes for the day; and
d. The winners to date.
Step 4: Win!:
Keep completing Activities for more chances to win. If you have won, a Digicel Representative will reach out to you with prize redemption details.
5. Will I be notified when to participate?
Yes. During the Promotional Period, you will receive an SMS notification upon completion of an Activity that you are eligible for a chance to win a prize.
6. What types of daily prizes can I win?
Customers will have a chance to win Cash, Mobile Phones, and Data throughout the month. This will start with Digicel’s live event on March 3rd, 2023 at the Digicel Waterfront store.
1. Both new and existing customers have a chance to win $500 KYD Daily.
2. One (1) New customer will a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 256GB, which will be awarded on April 3rd 2023.
3. Nineteen (19) Existing customers will have a chance to win one (1) Samsung Galaxy A33.
8. What do I need to know about collecting my prize if I am a winner?
a. If you win, Digicel will contact you by telephone.
b. A maximum of three (3) attempts will be made to call you within a period of twenty-four (24) hours.
c. During the telephone call, our Digicel representative will advise you where and how to redeem your prize.
d. Customers have fourteen (14) days after being notified of their winning to collect their prizes. Unclaimed prizes will remain the property of Digicel.
e. You will be required to provide government-issued identification. If you are under the age of eighteen (18) years, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must collect the prize on your behalf, and will be required to provide government-issued identification.
f. You agree that if you are a winner, you will permit photographs of you to be taken and for your image, likeness and name (your “Likeness”) to be used for public relations and marketing purposes free of cost, including the publishing of your Likeness on social media, mainstream media and other platforms that we may choose. If you refuse to do so, you acknowledge that this will result in forfeiture of your right to claim the prize. If you are under the age of eighteen (18) years, your parent or guardian must consent to this on your behalf.
Additional Terms and Conditions
A. This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any prizes redeemed through this Promotion.
B. Upon accepting a prize, you will be responsible for reading and accepting any terms and conditions that may be associated with that prize.
C. Digicel makes no representations or warranties as to the working condition of any tangible prize. The warranty information provided by the manufacturer of the prize will apply. Please contact the manufacturer of the prize for more information on the warranty of your prize.
D. We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if, in our sole opinion, the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.
E. We reserve the right to modify, extend or discontinue (permanently or temporarily), this Promotion being offered to you, at our discretion.
F. You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for claiming and collection of prizes and for connectivity and data usage in relation to your participation in the Promotion.
G. If a prize is unavailable, we may, at our discretion, substitute the prize with an alternative prize of equal value and/or specification.
H. We reserve the right to award any forfeited prize to another participant in the Promotion.
I. Prizes are not exchangeable and are not redeemable for cash.
J. We reserve the right to, at any time, with or without notice, vary or cancel the terms and conditions of this Promotion. In the event of us giving notice to you of any such changes to or cancellation of the Promotion, it shall suffice for us to give you notice via messages to your handset/device or to post such notification on the Digicel website or on our social media pages. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications.
L. Except in the event of its negligence, neither Digicel, nor any other person or party associated with the Promotion, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors or any of its personnel involved in the Promotion, shall be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered, death or personal injury suffered or sustained, or costs incurred, arising from either participation in the Promotion or from claiming or collecting any prize.
