Company is the series' official rehydration partner
With just a few days before the Digicel Grand Prix Athletics Championship Finals, the telecommunications company has announced that beverage brand Pepsi Cola Jamaica has come on board as a partner.
Pepsi will join the finals of the track and field meet series to the tune of 1 million dollars and will be the official beverage partner for the finals slated for the National Stadium on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Speaking to the partnership, Pepsi Cola Jamaica Limited’s Marketing Manager, Mitchell Watson said, “Pepsi Cola Jamaica is proud and happy to be a part of this event through our brands Pepsi Cola, Crystal Punch Water, as well as Gatorade. It is a great opportunity to re-hydrate these athletes of tomorrow. We look forward to an exciting event.”
Likewise, Kamal Powell, Senior Sponsorship and Development Manager at Digicel said, “We are happy that Pepsi has decided to join the Grand Prix finals. We are in the business of developing and sustaining our athletes of which proper hydration plays a major role; therefore Pepsi’s partnership with us is the perfect fit.”
The Digicel Grand Prix Championship Finals will see eight best performing athletes from the corporate, western and central region vie for the top honours in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 4*400m, discus and long jump.
The finals of the events will be competed within the GC Foster Classics which starts at 8:30am while the first Grand Prix final [400m] will be at 12noon.
