High on the Heroes’ Weekend calendar is the Government-led Olympic Homecoming celebrations for the full contingent of athletes and officials who represented Jamaica at the 2012 London Olympics, of which Digicel is a headline World Record Sponsor.

Tahnida Nunes, Sponsorship Manager for Digicel Jamaica, said: “To us at Digicel, our athletes’ performances at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games were beyond extraordinary. For the entire period of the Games, Jamaica was prominently placed on the world stage and national pride was at an all-time high, particularly in a year when - Jamaica is celebrating 50 years of amazing achievements and extraordinary experiences. Digicel is therefore very happy to be partnering with the Government to host these activities to say thank you to our athletes and officials and to show them how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication”.

Along with a church service at the East Queen Street Baptist on October 14, the main activities around the Homecoming Celebrations will take the form of an exciting concert at the National Arena under the theme, “Jamaica’s Musical History Honouring our Olympic Journey”.
