The BiP n Hunt Promotion

From today, Digicel is offering you simply more prizes through the BiP App “The BiP n Hunt Promotion” (the “Promotion”), providing all BiP customers with the opportunity to win cash prizes daily; Bip Customers can also win an IPhone 12 and or a PS5 on bonus days.
These Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes on the BiP application (the “App”). You should read these FAQs and Terms carefully before participating in the Promotion.
References to “we”, “us” and “our” means Digicel (Jamaica) Limited, a company registered under the laws of Jamaica with registered offices at 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston. References to “we”, “us” and “our” also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.
If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms, you should not participate in the Promotion.
1. What is the BiP n Hunt Promotion”?
BiP customers are eligible to participate in this promotion, subject to these Terms. This promotion has two elements namely: ‘Solve the daily clues and win’ and the ‘Grand Finale’.
The BiP n Hunt promotion allows you to win cash prizes daily by solving the clues shared daily in the BiP App. On Bonus days, Customers can win an IPhone 12 or PS5.
BIP Customers may also participate in the Promotion Grand Finale on February 5th 2021. To be eligible to participate in the Grand Finale, Bip Customers, in groups of four shall compete to be the first team to correctly solve the Hunt which shall consist of 10 clues shared on Bip and Digicel’s Instagram pages between 7am and 1pm shall win $600,000.00.
2. When does the Promotion start and end?
The Promotion is valid from 13th January 2021 and ends on 5th February 2021 (the “Promotional Period”).
3. Can I take part in the “daily clue” element of the Promotion?
You can participate in the “daily clue” element of the promotion once you are a BiP customer and have subscribed to the “The BiPnHunt” channel in the app.
The following customers are excluded, from participating in the Promotion:
a) Postpaid corporate & business account customers;
b) Digicel Employees/ immediate families of employees (mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son), employees of affiliated companies associated with this promotion;
c) Customers who use only Digicel+ (formerly Home and Entertainment services); or
d) Postpaid customers with overdue amounts;
*This Promotion will be accessible to Eligible Customers while roaming, but any prizes won will only be available for redemption in Jamaica.
4. How does ‘solving the daily clues’ element of Promotion work?
There are four steps to participating:
Step 1: Be an active BiP Customer (as defined above) who have downloaded the app.
Step 2: Subscribe to the BiPnHunt channel for daily clues, featured content and winner updates.
Step 3: Be the first customer daily before 4pm to solve the clue for the day. The answers to the clues must be in the form of a photo or video sent to Digicel’s BiP account (1876 405- 4444). Answer must include the hashtag #BiPnHunt.
Step 4: If you are the first customer to correctly solve the clue for the day you are indeed the winner. Digicel will verify the winner on that specific day and make contact. The person playing must be in the picture with the answer of each clue.
5. What is the difference between Solving the Daily Clues and Grand Finale?
a. “Solving the daily clue”: Daily during the Promotional Period, the participating Eligible Customers who solve the clues correctly will receive a cash prize of $40,000.00 for their individual attempt, upon submission of the solution in the BipnHunt Channel on the Bip App.
If no one finds the answer to the clue with the cash prize on the day it is published then the prize rolls over to the next day and the prize doubles.
b. “Bonus Days”: January 13th and 22nd shall be deemed bonus days where there will be two winners in the competition. On the applicable Bonus Day Customers shall have a chance to win the PS5 or the IPhone. (The principle in 5a above in relation to how the winner is chosen extends to Bonus days with the exception of the number of customers that can win.) Eligible Customers will receive a notification in channel and on social media regarding bonus days.
c. Grand Finale: To register for the BIPnHunt Grand Finale, Bip customers are required to submit the names of their team members on February 1, 2021 to the Bip number provided by Digicel with the hashtag #BipnHunt Finale. Only the first 20 teams to register on this day shall be admitted into the Grand Finale. Digicel shall provide confirmation of registration via the Bip App.
On February 5, 2021, the final day of the hunt (‘TheGrandFinale’), Bip Customers stand a chance to win $600,000.00 (‘The Grand Prize’). Participants must form a group of four to be eligible to compete in correctly solving the Hunt utilizing the 10 clues provided by Digicel. The first team to correctly solve the Hunt using all 10 clues and submit their entry via the Bip App on the number provided before 4pm on the specified day of the Grand Finale shall be awarded the Grand Prize on February 5, 2021. If there is a tie, both groups shall be awarded the Grand Prize.
6. How many times can I enter into the BiPnHunt?
The maximum number of wins per Eligible Customer is once (1) during the promotional period. Participating customers can only win once across the promotional period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Daily Winners can participate in the Grand Finale and shall not be prevented from winning the Grand Prize.
7. Will I be notified when to participate?
Yes. During the Promotional Period we will notify you when the BiPnHunt is available.
Clues: Each day during the promotional period, clues will be posted in the BipnHunt channel in the BiP app and on Digicel Jamaica’s (@digiceljamaica) IG Stories at 10am Digicel shall also provide Hints for any clues not identified 3 hours after the daily clue is posted during the promotional period. Eligible customers are required to solve the hunt correctly and submit their entry via the BipnHunt Channel on or before 4pm daily.
8. Will I be notified when I have won a prize?
Once a participant wins a prize this will be communicated in the BiPnHunt channel as well as featured on the social media pages of digiceljamaica on Instagram. If your entry was selected you will be contacted via phone by a representative from Digicel within twenty-four hours of your entry being selected
Three attempts shall be made to contact the winning participant over the span of twenty-four (24) hours. If attempts to contact the winning participant are unsuccessful, then Digicel shall contact the second correct entry from the channel. If there is no response from the second correct entry, then we shall contact the third correct entry and so on and so forth until a winner is selected.
9. What types of prizes can I win?

10. What are the draw dates for this promotion?
Venue: Digicel HQ, 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston, Jamaica
Daily Draw: Every day from January 13, 2021 – February 4, 2021
Grand FINALE: February 5, 2021
11. What do I need to know about claiming Prizes?
The procedure for collecting prizes are as follows:
I. Winners must present a valid Government issued photo ID (passport, voters’ identification card or driver’s licence) and the Phone on which the winning call was received on. Customer will be required to complete and sign a Redemption Form confirming their receipt of their prize for the BiPnHunt.
II. All daily cash prize winners, Digicel will contact the customers within 24 hours of winning.
III. The Grand Finale Winners shall redeem their cash prize by bank transfer. The team will nominate a member who will receive the full amount and they shall distribute it amongst themselves in any manner that they have agreed. In the event that no Group Member has a bank account, then Digicel shall pay the prize by cash. Digicel shall not be liable for the division of the Grand Prize amongst members once the Grand Prize has been paid over to the nominated account.
IV. In the event that a special needs customer is selected and they are unable to collect their prize, that customer will be allowed to have a representative collect the prize on their behalf who must provide: written consent from the winner endorsed by a Justice of the Peace and valid Government issued photo identification for both the winner and the representative to claim the prize.
NB. You are required to collect your prize within 30 days of being contacted. If the prize(s) are uncollected within thirty (30) days, the prize shall be forfeited and retained by Digicel.
Additional Terms and Conditions
A. This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.
B. You are required to use a compatible smartphone to run the App and participate in the Promotion. A compatible smartphone is an Android (OS 4.0 or higher) or Apple (iOS 2.0 or higher) smartphone to participate.
C. Customers must be 18 or older to participate in this promotion.
D. We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if, in our sole opinion, the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services upon consultation and approval of the BGLC.
E. The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.
F. Winners will be required to participate in any planned publicity in connection with this Promotion. By entering the Promotion, the prize winner consents to the use of his or her name, likeness, image, photograph for any and all programming and/or publicity promotion or advertising purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media and formats used by us or our agencies, without further compensation, throughout the entire world in perpetuity. If a winner refuses to do so, they forfeit their right to claim the prize.
G. Digicel, with consultation and prior approval from the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC), reserves the right to terminate, cancel, suspend and/or modify the promotion if any fraud, virus or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, safety or proper play of the promotion. In such event, Digicel hereby specifically reserves the right (but not the obligation) to award some other prize hereunder (as determined by Digicel, with consultation and prior approval from the BGLC) by means of a random drawing from among the eligible entries received up until the time of the impairment
H. You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of Other Prizes and for connectivity and data usage in relation to your use of the App. Be reminded that once roaming, you will not be able to use any data from your local prepaid or select postpaid plans.
I. If a prize is unavailable, we may, in our discretion, substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification upon consultation and approval of the BGLC.
J. Prizes are not exchangeable and non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.
L. Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this.
M. In the event the grand prize winners chooses not to accept the prize or refuses to participate in promotional activity, they will forfeit any claims to the prize, which will then be awarded to another team from the remaining qualifying entries upon the consultation and approval of the Betting , Gaming and Lotteries Commission.
