From today, Digicel is offering you simply more prizes through the My Digicel App “Shake & Share Christmas 2020 Promotion” (the “Promotion”), providing Prepaid and Postpaid customers with the opportunity to win digital experiences, LTE smartphones, discounts on our new Digicel Prime Bundles, free international and roaming minutes, cash prizes and more.  In the spirit of Better Together, you can now choose from a selection of prizes and even pass your win on to a friend or family member as a gift.

 

These Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes on the My Digicel mobile application (the “App”). You should read these FAQs and Terms carefully before participating in the Promotion.

 

References to “we”, “us” and “our” means Digicel (Jamaica) Limited, a company registered under the laws of Jamaica with registered offices at 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston.  References to “we”, “us” and “our” also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.

 

References to “I” or “you” means the person accessing or using the App to participate in the Promotion or a person receiving a gifted prize from that person (and “my” and “your” shall have the same meaning).

 

By participating in the Promotion on the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

These Terms incorporate the My Digicel Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy which you can access via the App.

 

If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms, or if you are under the age of thirteen (13), you should not participate in the Promotion.

 

1.         What is the “My Digicel Shake & Share Christmas 2020 Promotion”?

If you are a Prepaid or Postpaid customer with Digicel you can participate in the Promotion, subject to these Terms.  This promotion has two elements namely: ‘Shake & Share’ and the ‘General Raffle’.

 

The Shake & Share component of the Promotion allows you to WIN prizes by shaking your phone via the Shake It gaming mechanism in the My Digicel App. Each participating customer will have an opportunity to win prizes daily and weekly.

 

Customers may also participate in the Promotion by conducting a qualifying activity that will allow entry into the General Raffle component of the Promotion.

 

 

2.         When does the Promotion start and end?

The Promotion is valid from 19th November 2020 and ends on 20th January 2021 (the “Promotional Period”).

 

3.         Can I take part in the ‘Shake & Share’ element of the Promotion?

You can participate in the ‘Shake & Share’ element of the Promotion if you are an “Active Digicel Prepaid or Postpaid Customer” (which means you are able to make calls from your Digicel prepaid or postpaid number provided you have sufficient credit or plan allowance) with an active Digicel prepaid and/or postpaid bundle or plan from the selection of Eligible Plans as defined below. This includes customers who activate a new Eligible Plan during the promotional period as well as customers on an existing Eligible Plan.

 

The following customers are excluded from participating in the Promotion:

 

a)       Postpaid corporate & business account customers;

b)      Employees/families of employees, employees of affiliates companies associated with this promotion;

c)       Customers who use only Digicel+ (formerly Home and Entertainment) services;

d)      Postpaid customers with overdue amounts;

 

 

*This Promotion will be accessible to Eligible Customers while roaming, but any prizes won will only be available to for use and redemption in Jamaica.

 

4.         Which bundles/plans are included in the ‘Shake & Share’ element of the Promotion?

All our latest Digicel Prime Bundles and some other plans/bundles are eligible for the Promotion as listed below (collectively, the “Eligible Plans”).

You will also find Eligible Plans identified with the “Shake It” icon in the “Shake It” section of the My Digicel App.  Any plans that do not have the “Shake It” icon in the App are excluded from the Promotion.

5.         How does the ‘Shake & Share’ element of Promotion work?

There are four steps to participating and choosing your prize:

 

Step 1: Be an Active Digicel Prepaid or Postpaid Customer (as defined above) who activates or have activated an Eligible Plan:

 

a)       via the My Digicel App;

b)      by dialing the code *147#

 

Step 2: Confirm your participation in the Promotion by clicking on the ‘Shake It’ notification and accepting these Terms.

 

Step 3: Access the My Digicel App, go to the ‘Shake It’ section and shake your phone. You will receive a notification indicating whether you have won a prize or not.

 

Step 4: In you receive a notification that you have won a prize, you may have a choice of prize from a list of options and separately the ability to gift your prize to another Digicel customer of your choice.  Prizes that cannot be selected or gifted are automatically applied to your account.  Otherwise, you will have twenty-four (24) hours to select one or more of the following options, depending on the prize won:

 

a)       Choose the prize shown or, if available, you can choose one of the other prizes from the list of options; or

 

b)      Gift the prize to another Digicel customer by selecting this option and providing the contact details of that person.

 

If you do not select one of the above options within the twenty-four (24) hour window, we will automatically apply the default prize to your account.

 

6.         What is the difference between Guaranteed Win and More Chances to Win?

This promotion includes a Guaranteed Win day on Saturdays and “More Chances to Win” every other.

 

a.       “Guaranteed Win”: Every Saturday during the Promotional Period, participating Eligible Customers who complete the “Shake It” action in the My Digicel App will receive a prize (subject to these Terms).

 

b.       “More Chances to Win”: On any other day, Eligible Customers stand a chance to win a prize after activating a NEW Eligible Plan. Eligible Customers will have twenty-four (24) hours from the date and time of the “Shake It” notification to complete the “Shake It” action in the My Digicel App for a chance to win a prize.

 

7.         How many times can I Shake It and win?

The maximum number of wins per Eligible Customer is one (1) per day.  Even if you activate more than one (1), the same or different, Eligible Plan in one day you will only be able to win once.

8.         Will I be notified when to participate?

Yes.  During the Promotional Period we will notify you when a Guaranteed Win is available.  If you activate an Eligible Plan, you will receive a notification that you are eligible for More Chances to Win.

 

9.         Will I be notified when I have won a prize?

Yes.  You will be notified via SMS, push or in-app notification.  A confirmation notification is also sent if you are unsuccessful on a given shake.

Customers will be notified via SMS and In App notification as follows:

                                          i.            A voucher with a picture of the prize (for illustrative purposes only);

                                        ii.            A description of the prize with a QR code; and

                                      iii.            A telephone number to contact Digicel to arrange prize collection.  

10.     How does a customer participate in General Raffle?

Customers can enter the General Raffle by conducting any of the following qualifying activities:

i. Prepaid Customers

Conduct a single top up of $300 or more using any Digicel Top-Up method that includes Flexcards, Flex-e, BankFlex, WebFlex, Phone 2 Phone, Direct Top Up, My Digicel App, Digicel International Top Up and Digicel Online Top Up. Credit U and Digi Loan do not qualify as top-up methods. Cumulative top ups do not count towards entry into the Promotion.           

ii. Postpaid Customers

i. Accumulate 10 minutes of talk time within 24 hours; or

ii. Settle your bill on time and in full (new and existing customers); or

iii. Sign up to a Postpaid Prime Smart, Core, Plus plans, MiFi plans (20GB/60GB)

 

iii. 4G Broadband

i. Conduct a single top up of $300 or more using methods outlined in point (i) above; or

ii. Settle your bill on time and in full (new and existing customers, Postpaid customers).

iv. Plan activation

i. Purchase of a plan for $300.00 or more.

v. Digicel + Customers

 

         I.            Bill payment on time and in full (new and existing customers)

       II.            New sign up – purchase of any new Digicel+ (Home & Entertainment) bundle subscription or Fibre internet only (cable and internet)

vi. Purchase at an authorized Dealer Store

i. Purchase a handset or Mi Fi device; or

ii. Purchase a Digicel SIM.

Winners will be selected randomly for the weekly and grand prizes through the General Raffle entries, when contacted customers will be asked “What is the name of Digicel’ s Christmas Promotion” and must give the correct response of “Shake & Share” to win prizes.

 

N.B Each activity will give one (1) entry into the raffle.

11.     Can I use a Digital Experience Prize together with a purchased plan or bundle?

Yes.  The Digital Experience Prizes are compatible with our other plans and bundles and may be active at the same time. Any allowances (data or talk) will be depleted from your Digital Experience Prize prior to depleting any other purchased plan or bundle allowances.

 

12.     How can I check the balance on my Digital Experience Prizes?

You can check your balance/usage on the home page or in the Accounts and Balances section of the My Digicel App.

 

13.     How long will my Digital Experience Prize be valid for?

On a successful Shake It and in the event of a choice of prizes, you will have 24 hours to select your prize or we will select the default prize for you.

 

Except for Digicel Prime Bundle Discounts:

a)       Once a Digital Experience Prize has been selected, it will activate immediately and automatically for you.  There is no need to activate separately.

b)      Digital Experience Prizes are available to be used from the time of activation and expire as per the validity communicated at the time of activation.

 

If you select a Digicel Prime Bundle Discount as a prize, the benefit will apply on your next purchase or renewal of the specific named bundle.  These discount prizes will be available for use up to Twenty-Eight (28) days after choosing.

 

If you have chosen but do not use your Digital Experience Prize, it will expire and there will be no carry over or refund, except for Promo Digital Bundles where rollover may be applicable as described below.

 

14.     Will my Digital Experience Prize data and talk rollover?

Unused data or minutes will not rollover from any promotional prize or bundle to a regular/purchased bundle.  However, if you win and chose another Promo Digital Bundle as a prize, any outstanding data balance remaining from the prior and still valid Promo Digital Bundle will rollover.  An expired bundle cannot rollover.

 

15.     Can I have more than one Digital Experience Prize active at a time?

Yes.  If you win multiple prizes, you may have them active on your account at the same time. It is important to note that you cannot have multiple versions of the exact same Digital Experience Prize active at one time.  You cannot accumulate multiples of the same Digicel Prime Bundle Discount as a prize; however, you will be able to choose and use different discounts, e.g. one for a 7-day bundle and another for a 1-day bundle.

 

16.     What else do I need to know about gifting Digital Experience Prize gifting?

If you choose to gift a Digital Experience Prize to someone else, you will need to enter the Digicel phone number of the intended recipient and the prize list will be regenerated as the recipient may only receive rewards which are compatible with their Digicel service.  Successful gifted rewards will be automatically allocated to the recipient and activated; the recipient will also receive a notification highlighting the details of the gift.

 

You may be presented with an error screen in the event that the recipient is not eligible for the selected prize, e.g. when attempting to gift a Prepaid plan to a Postpaid customer, if their account is not active, or if their number is invalid.

 

17.     What do I need to know about claiming and gifting Non-Digital Prizes?

If you win a prize of this type, you will receive a notification including:

 

a)       a voucher with a picture of the prize (for illustrative purposes only);

b)      a description of the prize with a QR code;

c)       a telephone number to contact Digicel to arrange prize collection.  and

d)      A valid Government ID

 

The procedure for collecting prizes are as follows:

 

                                 I.            Winners must present a valid Government issued photo ID (passport, voters’ identification card or driver’s licence) and the Digicel Phone on which the winning call was received on. Customer will be required to complete and sign a Redemption Form confirming their receipt of their prize for the Shake it aspect.

                               II.            All daily cash prize winners selected from the Shake it component, will see the telephone number 1 (876) 380-0011 appear in the MyDigicel App. The customer may call the number stated above to receive details of prize redemption. In any event, Digicel will contact the customers within 24 hours of winning.

                             III.            All Weekly Prize Winners (Tablets, Smartphones or Supermarket vouchers) are to be collected via the nearest dealer store as advised by a Digicel Representative.

                            IV.            The Grand Prize Winner shall redeem their cash prize by bank transfer.

                              V.            In the event that a special needs customer is selected and they are unable to collect their prize, that customer will be allowed to have a representative collect the prize on their behalf who must provide: written consent from the winner endorsed by a Justice of the Peace and valid Government issued photo identification for both the winner and the representative to claim the prize.

                            VI.            Minors under the age of 18 years (must also present a valid school ID or Passport), are eligible for this Promotion but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who must also present a National photo ID along with the birth certificate of the said minor when redeeming their prizes.

 

N.B You MUST contact Digicel on the number provided within 24 hours of the notification being issued or the prize may be forfeited. Once you have contacted Digicel and identification is validated, your prize will be made available for collection from the paymaster redemption centres. You are encouraged to collect your prize within two (2) trading days (Monday to Saturday) and are required to collect your prize within fourteen (14) days from the issue date of the notification of the prize win or the prize will be forfeited. Non-Digital Prizes may neither be gifted through the My Digicel App nor traded for cash or another product. Digicel reserves the right to award any forfeited prizes to another Eligible Customer and to substitute prizes where reasonably required upon consultation and approval from the BGLC.Warranty and support information, where applicable, will be included in product packaging.

 

 

 

 

Additional Terms and Conditions

A.      This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.

 

B.      You are required to use a compatible smartphone to run the App and participate in the Promotion. A compatible smartphone is an Android (OS 4.0 or higher) or Apple (iOS 2.0 or higher) smartphone to participate in the Shake it element of the promotion.

 

C.      We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate this offer if, in our sole opinion, the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.

 

D.      You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of prizes and for connectivity and data usage in relation to your use of the App. Data usage will be taken from your main data allowance, your Digicel credit, or billed to your postpaid account if:

 

a.       you deplete your Digital Experience Reward allowance; or

b.      your reward is not an “Any Use Data” reward, and you use any other application except those listed above.

E.       Please note that once roaming, you will not be able to participate in the Promotion.

 

F.       The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.

 

G.      Winners will be required to participate in any planned publicity in connection with this Promotion. By entering the Promotion, the prize winner consents to the use of his or her name, likeness, image, photograph for any and all programming and/or publicity promotion or advertising purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media and formats used by us or our agencies, without further compensation, throughout the entire world in perpetuity. If a winner refuses to do so, they forfeit their right to claim the prize.

 

H.      Digicel, with consultation and prior approval from the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC), reserves the right to terminate, cancel, suspend and/or modify the promotion if any fraud, virus or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, safety or proper play of the promotion. In such event, Digicel hereby specifically reserves the right (but not the obligation) to award some other prize hereunder (as determined by Digicel, with consultation and prior approval from the BGLC) by means of a random drawing from among the eligible entries received up until the time of the impairment

 

I.        You are solely responsible for all associated fees and costs incurred by you for redemption of Other Prizes and for connectivity and data usage in relation to your use of the App. Be reminded that once roaming, you will not be able to use any data from your local prepaid or select postpaid plans.

 

J.        The selected winners must have complied with these Terms to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.

 

K.      If a prize is unavailable, we may, in our discretion, substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification.

 

L.       Prizes are not exchangeable and are not redeemable for cash.

M.    Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion by Digicel and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion on behalf of the Digicel and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent. By entering this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by Digicel and/or any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion for the purposes of administration of the promotion (including publishing your full name and country and/or disclosing it to third parties on request if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. N.      Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this.

O.      In the event the grand prize winner chooses not to accept the prize or refuses to participate in promotional activity, they will forfeit any claims to the prize, which will then be awarded to another Digicel customer from the remaining qualifying entries.
