The “Golden Sim” Promotion (the “Promotion”) frequently asked Questions (“FAQ”) and Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to you and govern your participation in the Promotion for chances to win certain prizes .You should read these FAQs and Terms carefully before participating in the Promotion.

“We” or “us” means Digicel (Jamaica) Limited, a company registered under the laws of Jamaica with registered offices at 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston, Jamaica. References to “we”, “our” and “us” in these Terms also includes our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) from time to time.

“I” or “You” means the person participating in this promotion.

If you do not agree to or accept any of these Terms, you should stop participating in the Promotion immediately.




1.       What is the “Golden Sim” Promotion”?


Digicel is offering its prepaid and postpaid customers the opportunity to participate in the “Golden Sim” promotion subject to these terms and conditions. This promotion provides an opportunity for active prepaid or postpaid Digicel customers to win a weekly cash prize of a minimum of One Million Dollars (JMD$1,000,000.00) if their unique sim card number, that is, the International Mobile Subscriber Identifier (IMSI) is randomly selected by the Raffle Manager.


Only the first eighteen (18) digits listed on the winning IMSI will be selected by Raffle Manager. As noted in the image below, only the digits in bold here, 890105004024184410-5 would be selected as the winning IMSI number. The nineteenth (19th) digit would not be included in the draw, in this case the five (5) would not be included.

2. What is the promotional period for the Promotion?


This promotion is valid from Monday, June 13, 2022 12:01 am through to Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 11:59:59 pm.


3.   Who is eligible to enter the Promotion, “Eligible Customers”?


In order to be eligible for this Promotion, you must be an active Digicel prepaid or postpaid customer and;


Use your SIM (during the qualifying period, which is the week before the draw) by engaging in any of the following activities:


·  Recharge (any amount)


·  Send SMS (chargeable)


·  Make a voice call (chargeable)


·  Be active on a plan (bundle, data, voice, international, roaming, app);




· Active postpaid Customer (no overdue and outstanding bill).


The following customers are excluded from participating in the Promotion:


a.     Postpaid Corporate & Business account customers;


b.     Customers who have elected not to participate in any Digicel promotions;


c.     Employees/families of employees (Spouse and Children), employees of affiliated companies associated with this promotion;


d.     Ambassadors of Digicel;


e.     Employees who have left Digicel within the three (3) month period preceding the commencement date of the promotion and during the promotional period;


f.       Customers who use only Digicel + (previously “Home & Entertainment” customers);


g.     Postpaid customers in a dunned state, that is customers with an overdue amount for at least two (2) months;


h.     Directors of Digicel during the promotional period; and


i.       Customers who have ported their number to another telecommunications network.


A subscriber will be eligible, whether or not they have won in a previous promotion. The IMSI selected in the Raffle Manager during the draw for the weekly winner will be removed from subsequent draws.  


4    How does a customer enter into this promotion?


The qualifying activities to gain an entry into this promotion are as follows:


Use your SIM (during the qualifying period)


·   Recharge (any amount)


·   Send SMS (chargeable)


·   Make a voice call (chargeable)


·   Be active on a plan (bundle, data, voice, international, roaming, app)


·   Active postpaid Customer (no outstanding bill per definition in Section 4(g))


5. Will the customer be notified when to enter the promotion?


Public awareness for this promotion will be in the form of programmatic advertising, social media posting and direct SMS messages to the customers during the promotional period. The promotional details will also be uploaded to our website at


Customers may call 142 or scan the QR code (see flyer below) to receive the full details of the promotion. An automatic SMS will also be sent after the customer ends the call with a direct link to speak to one of our live agents on Ruby.

6. How many times can a customer enter and win?


To be eligible for the weekly cash prize, the prepaid or postpaid customer must be active during the qualifying period of the promotion, that is, before the start of the next week. Each IMSI will get one entry in each draw and the winning IMSI will be removed from subsequent draws whether or not the cash prize is claimed.



7.      What are the mechanics of this promotion?


During the promotional period, one (1) eligible customer will be selected weekly as the winner and be rewarded a minimum of One Million Dollars (JMD $1,000,000.00) in accordance with the schedule below.


Every Monday at 3:00 pm at 14 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston, the Raffle Manager will select a random International Mobile Subscriber Identifier (IMSI) otherwise called sim card number from an electronic pool of eligible prepaid and postpaid customers and the winner announced the following day (Tuesday). Where the Monday falls on a public holiday the winner will be selected on the next business day, Tuesday and the winner announced the following day on Wednesday.

Once a winner has been selected, the IMSI will be validated to ensure that the individual does not fall within the ineligible criteria; where the individual falls within the ineligible category, the Raffle Manager will immediately select another IMSI.


Upon announcement, the weekly winner will have until Monday at noon (preceding the next draw date) to contact our office to claim the prize. On the Monday preceding the next draw date a maximum of three (3) telephone calls will be made between noon and 1:00 pm to the winner of the previous week to provide them with a final opportunity to claim their prize. In the event that no response has been received, the funds will be compounded towards the next draw date until a winner is identified and when such winner is identified then the prize will reset to One Million Dollars (JMD$1,000,000).


However, if a winner does not come forward for the 21st draw within the specified timeframe the prize will be forfeited. Digicel shall retain the prize if forfeited.


8.       What is the method of notifying winners and the means for redeeming the prize?




The winners will be announced by 8:00 am on Tuesdays, each week on Digicel’s social media pages and in the print media. Additionally, the winning IMSI will be published in the MyDigicel App for six (6) days  (Tuesday – Sunday or Wednesday – Sunday in instances where the winner is selected on a Tuesday) after selection and in the Jamaica Observer requesting that the winner contact us at 876-619-5000.


The winner will need to provide the below information to claim the reward upon making contact with Digicel:


-    Full Name


-    Contact Number


-    Age


-   Address


-  Valid Government ID Number (Licence, Passport, Voter’s ID) (original identification should be presented upon attendance at our office)


-  Bank Details for direct deposit


- Assigned phone number to the IMSI


-  Physical SIM card indicating winning numbers


Once the information is provided, the winner will be invited to 14 Ocean Boulevard where they will do a symbolic cheque handover and provide their IDs and bank details. From there, their photo and video will be taken.


In the event that winner is under the age of eighteen (18) years, they will have to share the above information for themselves and for their parent or guardian. Their student IDs will be valid and presented along with their Birth Certificate or proof of guardianship, however, the bank account must be in their name or the name of their parent/guardian. Parent/guardian is required to provide valid identification.


If they are unable to provide the above information, with the exception of the physical sim card, they will have to forfeit their prize. If the winner is no longer able to provide the physical sim, they may still be eligible to claim their prize once we are able to validate the winning IMSI. 





a)     Customers are required to attend Digicel’s headquarters in person to claim or redeem their cash prize no later than five (5) working days from the date of contact (contact as specified in section 7 above) or the prize will be forfeited. The customer will be required to present valid identification along with the physical winning sim card.


b)     Payment will be made via bank transfer within thirty (30) days from the symbolic cheque handover at 14 Ocean Boulevard.


c)     Prizes may not be transferred or exchanged unless otherwise approved by the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.


d)     Digicel reserves the right to award any forfeited prizes to another participant in the Promotion and to substitute Prizes where reasonably required upon consultation and approval of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.


e)     Save in the event of its negligence, neither Digicel, nor any other person or party associated with the Promotion, their associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors or any of its personnel involved in the Promotion, shall be liable whatsoever for any loss or damage incurred or suffered, death or personal injury suffered or sustained, or costs incurred, arising from either participation in the Promotion or from claiming any Reward.


Additional Terms and Conditions


A.     This Promotion is offered for your personal use and not for commercial use and you agree not to sell any rewards redeemed through this Promotion.


B.     We reserve the right to disqualify you or terminate (upon consultation and approval of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission) this offer if, in our opinion, the Promotion is being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to selling or attempts to sell the prizes, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of our services.


C.     The selected winners must have complied with these Terms and Conditions to enter and be on an active, qualifying contract with no accounts held with Digicel being in arrears to be eligible to win the prizes.


D.     We reserve the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily), this Promotion being offered to you upon consultation and approval of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.


E.      If a prize is unavailable, we may, in our discretion, substitute the prize with an alternative prize to the equal value and/or specification with the approval of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.


F.      We reserve the right to, at any time, with or without notice, vary or cancel the terms and conditions of this Promotion upon consultation and approval of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission. In the event of us giving notice to you of any such changes to or cancellation of the Promotion, it shall suffice for us to give you notice via messages to your handset/device or to post such notification on the Digicel website or the App. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications.


G.    Any personal data relating to participants will be used solely for the purposes of this promotion by Digicel and/or by any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion on behalf of Digicel and will not be disclosed to a third party for any other purpose without the individual’s prior consent. By entering this Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data by Digicel and/or any agent appointed by it to assist with running the promotion for the purposes of administration of the promotion (including publishing your full name and county and/or disclosing it to third parties on request if you are the winner) and any other purposes to which you have consented. H.     Winners may be required to take part in related publicity, including (without limitation) publication of the name and image of a promotion winner along with their winning entry via Digicel’s website, social media and other press and media channels. No additional payment will be given for this.


I.       In addition to these Terms and Conditions, you remain bound by our My Digicel App Terms and Conditions of Use.
