FREEDOM POSTPAID PLANS: TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

1.   Digicel FREEDOM POSTPAID PLANS are available to all new and existing Digicel customers once they pass the stated criteria.

2.   New customers to Digicel (Port-In / New sign-up) who wish to sign up for Digicel FREEDOM POSTPAID  PLANS are required to:

a.   Provide a valid government issued ID

b.   Provide a valid TRN – if a Driver’s License is not provided

c.   Pass Digicel’s internal credit checks (including but not limited to not being in possession of another Digicel account that is in bad credit – customer will be required to clear all outstanding balances with Digicel)

d.   Pass external credit checks completed via the Credit Bureau (customers will be required to authorize Digicel to complete the report on their behalf)

3.   Existing Prepaid Digicel customers are required to:

a.   Provide a valid government issued ID

b.   Provide a valid TRN – if a Driver’s License is not provided

c.   Pass Digicel’s internal credit checks (including but not limited to not being in possession of another Digicel account that is in bad credit – customer will be required to clear all outstanding balances with Digicel)

d.   Pass external credit checks completed via the Credit Bureau (customers will be required to authorize Digicel to complete the report on their behalf)

4.   Existing Postpaid customers can switch to these new FREEDOM POSTPAID plans by calling into customer care with the required verification to execute the change. Once the customer switches to any of new FREEDOM POSTPAID plan, they will not be able to return to any of the old plans.

 

UNLIMITED TERMS

5.   FREEDOM POSTPAID plans are offered for the personal use of individuals and not for commercial use.

6.   To help protect against the possibility that customers may occupy an unfair share of the network, FREEDOM POSTPAID plans will be subject to fair usage guidelines which are designed to ensure that quality of service and reliability are maintained at all times. These fair usage guidelines give an indication of what we believe is normal and reasonable for an individual user.  

7.   Customers with the Postpaid Start plan are able to access unlimited charge free calls, inclusive of Telephone Call Tax, to all local Digicel numbers. This includes: Digicel Mobile, Digicel Fixed, Digicel Play, and Digicel Wimax, Digicel Homephone in Jamaica only. All other calls are charged at the prevailing rates and is subject to applicable taxes.

8.   Customers with the Postpaid Core plan are able to access unlimited charge free calls, inclusive of Telephone Call Tax, to all local Digicel and Flow numbers. This includes: Digicel Mobile, Digicel Fixed, Digicel Play, and Digicel Wimax, Flow Mobile, Flow Landlines in Jamaica only. All other calls are charged at the prevailing rates and is subject to applicable taxes.

9.   Customers with the Postpaid Plus plan are able to access unlimited charge free calls, inclusive of Telephone Call Tax, to all local Digicel and Flow numbers and specific international locations. This includes: Digicel Mobile, Digicel Fixed, Digicel Play, and Digicel Wimax, Flow Mobile, Flow Landlines in Jamaica. For international, these include the USA, Canada and landlines in UK.  All other calls are charged at the prevailing rates and is subject to applicable taxes.

 

DATA USE & ROLLOVER

10. Each plan is allotted a specified amount of data. Customers will not be able to go into data overage. Once a customer’s data allotment has been exhausted, they will be barred from data access

11. Customers will not be able to access PAYGO (Pay as you go) data on Digicel’s FREEDOM POSTPAID PLANS.

12. To continue accessing data, customers may purchase additional data via data bundles.

13. Data will only rollover once a customer’s bill is paid on-time and in full.

14. Data will only roll-over once a customer’s account remains in an active state

15. Data will continue to roll-over once conditions of item 13 and 14 are met.

 

UNLIMITED MESSAGING

16. Customers on Digicel’s POSTPID UNLIMITED PLANS will have access to unlimited messaging for any of the plans active on a customer’s account.

17. UNLIMITED local Digicel to Digicel text messaging. (see item 6 regarding fair usage guidelines)

18. UNLIMITED Whatsapp Messaging which is restricted to text, voice notes and pictures (see item 6 regarding fair usage guidelines)

19. UNLIMITED Whatsapp Messaging requires access to Digicel’s Data network (2G, 3G, 4G, LTE) which will not reduce the data allotted to the customer’s plan.

 

VOICE ADD-ONS & ROLLOVER

20. Customers will have access to all voice add-on services unless otherwise stated.

21. Customers may purchase a special voice add-on bundle which allows for calls not covered under the UNLIMITED aspect of their respective postpaid plan.

22. This special voice add-on bundle allows for off net calls and international locations: USA, Canada and landlines in the UK.

23. Customers may benefit from rollover minutes on this special voice add-on once the plan remains activate on their account.

24. Once the special voice-add-on is removed, customers will lose any accrued minutes on the special voice add-on bundle. Additionally, they will not be able to regain these minutes if they chose to reactivate the special voice add-on plan on their account.  

25. Voice minutes obtained from the special voice add-on will only rollover once a customer’s bill is paid on-time and in full.

26. Voice minutes obtained from the special voice add-on will only roll-over once a customer’s account remains in an active state

27. Voice minutes obtained from the special voice add-on will continue to roll-over once conditions of items 23, 25 and 26 are met.

28. Customers must activate a Voice Add-On via USSD code *143# from their handset/device or via the MyDigicel app in the My Plans section.

29. Activation of the Voice Add-On will be confirmed to Customers by text message

 

DATA ADD-ON & ROLLOVER

30. Customers may purchase additional data bundle (add-on) which allows continued data access on Digicel’s data network at the available speed dependent on the customer’s device, location and network coverage.

31. This data add-on can be used for browsing, streaming, download, upload and VOIP activity.

32. Customers may benefit from rollover data from data add-on once the plan remains activate on their account.

33. Once the data add-on is removed, customers will lose any accrued data on the data add-on bundle. Additionally, they will not be able to regain this data if they chose to reactivate the data add-on plan on their account.

34. Data obtained from the data add-on will only rollover once a customer’s bill is paid on-time and in full.

35. Data obtained from the data add-on will only roll-over once a customer’s account remains in an active state

36. Data obtained from the data add-on will continue to roll-over once conditions of items 32, 34 and 35 are met.

37. Customers must activate a Data Add-On via USSD code *143# from their handset/device or via the MyDigicel app in the My Plans section.

38. Activation of the Data Bundle Add-On will be confirmed to Customers by text message

 

SERVICE TERMS

39. Voice and data allotments are only applicable while in Jamaica. Once roaming, customers may activate a roaming plan or roam at the prevailing standard roaming rates.

40. Digicel reserves the right to terminate the FREEDOM POSTPAID PLANS offer if, in its sole opinion, the UNLIMITED PLANS are being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to, unreasonable levels of usage, reselling or attempts to resell the Data/Voice, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of Digicel’s network or services.

41. Digicel reserves the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily) the FREEDOM POSTPAID Plans being offered to its customer at our discretion.

42. Digicel reserves the right to at any time, with or without notice, to vary or cancel the terms and conditions of its FREEDOM POSTPAID plan. In the event of Digicel giving notice to Customers of any such changes to or cancellation of the Service, it shall suffice for Digicel to give customers notice via messages to customer’s handset/device or to post such notification on Digicel’s website. Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications.

 

In addition to the Terms and Conditions herein, customers remain bound by any other terms and conditions of use for any of Digicel’s other services, including the general Terms and Conditions for Digicel Telephone Services.
