1.              What is the Digicel ‘Roam Easy’ plan?

Our new “Roam Easy” plans give prepaid mobile customers the flexibility to roam in 50 countries worldwide with allotted data and minutes, access to free incoming calls and texts and reduced out-of-bundle calling rates.

3.       How do I activate a Roam Easy plan?

You can activate a Roam Easy plan using the My Digicel app via p.mydigicel.net or by dialing *153#

Note: If there is insufficient credit when the BUY option is selected, the activation will fail and you will receive a text message advising to add sufficient credit and try activating the plan again.

 

4.      Who can buy these Roam Easy plans?

These new roaming plans are currently available for Digicel prepaid customers.

If you are a Postpaid customer, Closed User Group (CUG) or Dual Account holder, please click here to viewing the roaming plans currently available to you.

 

5.      Which countries can I roam in with the new roaming plans?

With Digicel’s new prepaid Roam Easy plan, you will be able to stay connected while roaming in 50 countries with free incoming calls and texts, data and talk bundles plus super low out-of-bundle call rates.

6.       How much will I pay to make out-of-bundle calls while on an active Roam Easy plan?

You will receive the following reduced calling rate while on an active prepaid Roam Easy plan in 50 destinations.

8.   How will I know when I have exhausted my roaming data?

We will send you text message notifications advising you when you have 100MB, 20MB and 0MB of roaming data remaining. To continue browsing, you will be required to purchase a new roaming plan.

 

7. What happens when my roaming data is finished?

You will not be able to access the data network, therefore, you will not incur data overage charges. If your data runs out before the plan expires, you will be required to purchase a new Roam Easy plan in order to continue data roaming.

 

8. What happens when I have exhausted my bundled roaming minutes?

We will send your text message notifications once you have 15minutes and 0 minutes of roaming voice minutes remaining. To continue making voice calls, you will be charged at reduced calling rates, as long as there is sufficient credit on your account.

9. How can I check my Roam Easy balance & expiration date?

The easy way is using your free 100MB daily My Digicel app data via a.mydigicel.net. You can also dial *120*154# if the network you are connected to allows UMM

 

10.   What will happen if I do not have available credit on my main balance?

You will not be able to make calls or send text messages; however, you will be able to continue receiving calls free of charge.

You will also be able to continue using the roaming data bundle. Once depleted, and if there is no credit available on your account, you will not be able to purchase a new Roam Easy plan.

 

11. Will I be able to keep my unused Data & Talk when my Roam Easy plan expires?

No. If you Roam Easy plan expires before you re-activate a new roaming plan then any unused roaming data & talk will be removed from your account.

You will also receive a text message to let you know that your Roam Easy plan has expired and that you can buy a new one, or pay for calls at standard roaming rates.

 

 12. How will I know when my Roam Easy plan has expired?

We will send you a text message update 48 hours and 24 hours before your bundle expires. This gives you enough time to choose auto-renew or activate a new roaming plan when you’re ready.

 Note: If you have an active 3-Day Roaming plan, you will receive one (1) text message notification 24 hours prior to expiration.

 

13.   How do I renew my Roaming plan?

The easiest way is to use the My Digicel app via p.mydigicel.net or by dialing *153#

 

14.   How do I cancel my roaming plan?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to cancel your Roam Easy plan after activation. Once activated, the plan will only expire at the end of the subscription period i.e. 3 days, 7 days, 15 days or 30 days after activation.           

 

15.   Can I move from one Roam Easy plan to another?

Yes. And the great thing here is that you get to keep your unused data and talk from your current Roam Easy plan if you re-activate your current roaming plan or activate another roaming plan before it expires.   

18.   Will I be charged to access the MyDigicel app while roaming?

Prepaid customers will have 100MB daily to use the MyDigicel app for free while roaming. However, roaming data charges will be incurred if you use the MyDigicel app after the daily allotment has been exhausted and before it has reset for the next day.

 

19.   Will I be charged to download the MyDigicel app while roaming?

Yes. Downloading the MyDigicel app will incur data roaming charges while on a network abroad. To avoid data charges, you can download the MyDigicel app once connected to WiFi

 

20.   If I should travel from one of the eligible countries to another while my plan is still active, will I need to activate another plan in order to continue to benefit?

No. You can continue to roam and use your available megabytes and minutes.

 

21.   Do I have to activate the Roaming plan before I travel?

No. You can activate while you’re abroad using the MyDigicel app via p.mydigicel.net

 

24.   If I activate the Roaming plan roaming, will the roaming rates apply immediately?

No. The roaming rates and bundle allotment are only applicable when roaming and connected to a network overseas. Once you are in Jamaica you will continue to pay for and use plans at domestic rates.

 

25.   Will I still be able to activate the old roaming plans?

The new prepaid Roam Easy plan has replaced older roaming plans such as Roam Like your Home and Roaming Passport.

 

26.   If I have bonus credit on my account, can this credit be used while roaming?

No. Bonus credit is only available while on your home network and cannot be used while roaming.

 

27.   What is required for me to roam at 3G, 4G or LTE speeds while abroad?

A 3G/4G or LTE network must be commercially available to Digicel customers on the overseas network. Your device must be 3G, 4G or LTE-capable.

 

 28.   Will my local data plan still be valid while on this plan?

No. Local data allotment cannot be used while on a network overseas.

 

29.   Will I be able to contact Customer Care while roaming?

Sure. You can dial 1876 380 7626(ROAM) to contact Customer Care free of charge while roaming or you can use the web chat feature within the MyDigicel app via a.mydigicel.net

Note: Calls will be charged at the same rate as calling a regular Digicel number while in your home country.

 

30.   How do I access voicemail while roaming? 

You can easily access your voicemail by dialing 1876 380 0000. Voicemail calls are billed at the same rate as calling a regular Digicel number while in your home country.

 

 

32. What are the rates to make calls if I don’t have an active Roam Easy plan?

You will be charged at standard roaming rates when roaming in any of the eligible roaming destinations without an active roaming plan or roaming outside of the eligible destinations with our without a plan. The Standard roaming rates that will apply are:
