What are the new Postpaid Roam Easy plans?

Digicel is giving you the flexibility to choose your postpaid roaming plan based on your travel destination plus giving you bundled data and voice so you can hit the ground roaming in more countries. 

 

What does the International roaming plan include?

Enjoy bundled data and voice minutes, free incoming calls & texts plus reduced out of bundle call rates in select international destinations. Choose from one of the plans below:

How do I activate a postpaid roaming plan?

 Simply dial *153# or use the My Digicel app via p.mydigicel.net.

      

 How can I check my roaming data balance and plan expiration?

Simply use your daily 100MB free My Digicel app data via a.mydigicel.net or dial *120*9# to check your roaming data balance.

 

 Where can I call with my roaming voice bundle?

You will be able to make calls to any of the destinations included in the table below once you have an active roaming plan and you are within an eligible destination for that plan.

How can I check my roaming voice balance?

Your roaming voice usage will appear at the end of the month on your monthly bill.

 

Can I have an International and Digicel Caribbean plan active at the same time?

Yes. You can have both roaming plans active at the same.

 

 If I should travel from one eligible country to another eligible country, will I need to activate another roaming plan?

No. You can continue to roam and use your available megabytes and voice minutes if travelling between eligible destinations for that roaming plan.

 

What happens if I have an International roaming plan and travel to a Digicel Caribbean country or vice versa?

You will need to activate the appropriate roaming plan for the visited destination to avoid being charged at the standard roaming rate.

 

How will I know when I have exhausted my roaming data?

We will send you text message once you have used 90% and 100% of your roaming data.

 

What happens when my roaming data is finished?

If your data runs out before the plan expires, you will be required to purchase a new roaming plan in order to continue browsing and avoid surprise charges.

 

What happens when my bundle voice minutes is finished?

If your voice minutes runs out before your plan expires and you have not reached your credit limit, you will be charged the out of bundle call rate. Please see question 9 for the full list of out of bundle call rates.

 

What will happens if my roaming plan has been exhausted and I have reached my credit limit?

You will not be able to make calls or send text messages; however, you will still be able to receive calls free of charge.

You can make a payment using the My Digicel app via a.mydigicel.net.

 

Will I be able to keep my unused data when my Roam Easy plan expires?

No. Unused roaming data and talk will not roll over.

 

How will I know when my roaming plan has expired?

We will send you a text message 24 hours before your plan expires. This gives you enough time to choose and activate a new plan when you’re ready.

 

How much will I pay to make out-of-bundle calls with an active roaming plan?

You will receive the following reduced calling rates while on an active roaming plan in an eligible destination.

What are the rates to make calls if I am not on an active roaming plan?

You will be charged at the standard roaming rates if you do not have an active roaming plan or roam in a country not included in Digicel’s roaming destinations. The standard roaming that will apply is listed in the table below

How do I renew my roaming plan?

The easiest way is via the My Digicel app at a.mydigicel.net or dial *153# 

 

How do I cancel my roaming plan?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to cancel your roaming plan after activation. Once activated, the plan will only expire at the end of the subscription period i.e. 3 days, 7 days, 15 days or 30 days after activation.

 

Will I be charged to access the My Digicel app while roaming?

You will have 100MB daily to use the My Digicel app for free while roaming. However, roaming data charges will be incurred if you use the My Digicel app after the daily allotment has been exhausted and before it has reset for the next day.

 

Will I be charged to download the My Digicel app while roaming?

Yes. Downloading the My Digicel app will incur data roaming charges while on a network abroad. To avoid data charges, you can download the MyDigicel app once connected to WiFi.

 

Do I have to activate a roaming plan before I travel?

No. You can activate while you’re abroad using the MyDigicel app at p.mydigicel.net or you can dial *153# if the network you are on supports short codes.

 

If I activate the roaming plan before roaming, will the plan rates apply immediately?

No. The roaming rates are only applicable when roaming and connected to a network overseas. Once you are in Jamaica you will continue to pay for and use plans at domestic rates.

 

If I have an active International Calling Plan, will I be able to roam?

No. International Calling Plans are only applicable when connected to the Digicel Jamaica network. Once you are oversees, you will pay the standard roaming rates if you have not activated a Roam Easy plan

 

Will I still be able to activate the old roaming plans?

The new Roam Easy plans have replaced legacy roaming plans such as Easy Roam, Roam Like your Home and Roaming Passport.

  

What is required for me to roam at 3G, 4G or LTE speeds while abroad?

·         A 3G/4G or LTE network must be commercially available to customers on the overseas network.

·         Your device must be 3G, 4G or LTE-capable.

 

Will my local data plan still be valid while on this plan?

No. Local data allotment cannot be used while on a network overseas.

 

Will I be able to contact Customer Care while roaming?

Sure. You can dial 1 876 380 7626 (ROAM) in order to contact Customer Care while roaming or you can use the web chat feature within the My Digicel app.

 

 How do I access voicemail while roaming? 

Dial 1 876 380 0000. 

Voicemail calls billed at the same rate as calling a regular Digicel number while in your home country.
