DIGICEL ROAMING PLAN 

1. What is Digicel Roaming plan?

Digice lRoaming Plan service allows Digicel Prepaid and Postpaid customers travelling to the United States and any Digicel Territry to benefit from reduce calling and SMS rates. Data rates are also significantly lower on this plan.

2. Who is theDigicel Roaming plan for?
The Digicel Roaming plan is for both Prepaid and Postpaid GSM customers

3. How does Digicel Roaming plan work?

The Digicel Roaming plan plan is a roaming service that allows Prepaid and Postpaid customers to opt in to a specialized rate plan for a subscription fee while roaming in the USA and the Caribbean for a limited duration (7 days weekly for prepaid, 14 days forenightly for postpaid 30 days monthly for both prepaid and postpaid customers ) and is available only on the Digicel network in the Caribbean (excluding Guyana) and all networks in the USA and Canada. The subscription fee allows customers to access low usage rates for voice, texts and data.
Once you have opted in to this plan you will be charged significantly lower data charges of $0.10 per mb.These reduced rates will be applicable for the full duration of the plan. Once the plan has expired, rates will revert to standard roaming rates.
The Digicel Roaming plan rates are charged at per minute billing.

4. What is the cost to register for the service?

The cost to register the service varies for Prepaid and Postpaid costumers it is as follows:
•Prepaid – $2000 for the subscription period (7 Days)
•Postpaid –$2000 for the subscription period (14 Days) •Prepaid -$7500 for the subscription period (30 Days)
•Postpaid -$7500 for the subscription period (30 Days)
Do I have to activate the Digicel Roaming plan before I roam?
Postpaid customer must activate before leaving, by contact Customer Care or visiting a retail store. However prepaid subscribers can activate by dialling *130# and follow the instructions.

5. How do I activate a Digicel Roaming plan?

Prepaid Customers:

  • To initiate activation of “A Digicel Roaming Plan", Prepaid customers are required to dial *130#.
  • The plan will then need to be confirmed by dialing *130*1#.
  • Once confirmed, activation of the plan is then completed and indicated by a notification message.
  • Activated customers will be able to benefit from the reduced prices while roaming
  • This plan is for customers with roaming capable handsets.

Postpaid Customers:

  • Postpaid customers are required to pay the roaming deposit of 40K if the credit limit for that account is before 40K before activating the Digicel Roaming Plan.
  • To initiate activation of “ The Digicel Roaming Plan”, Postpaid customers are required to consult with a Sales Representative or vsist a Digicel Dealer store.
  • Activated customers will be able to benefit from the reduced prices while roaming in the US.
  • This plan is for customers with roaming capable handsets.





 

6. How do I renew my Digicel Roaming Plan?

There is no option to renew the Digicel Roaming Plan. The plans can be reactivated after expiry i.e. 7 days (Prepaid) or 30 Days (Postpaid) after purchase.

7. Will I receive a notification when their Digicel Roaming Plan expires?

Yes. You will also receive one (1) notification when the plan has expired. Once plan has expired regular roaming rates will be applied.

8. How do I cancel my Digicel Roaming Plan ?

The plan cannot be canceled after activation. During the activation process you can dial *130*2# to cancel the activation.
Once activated the plan will only expire at the end of the subscription period i.e. 7 days (Prepaid) or 14 Days (Postpaid) after purchase

9. How do customers contact Customer Care while roaming?

Customers are required to dial +5926601000 to contact Customer Care while roaming.
Contacting Voicemail while roaming will incur a cost that will be charged the same rate as if calling a Digicel number, if Roam Like Home is activated that charge will be $XXX per min Postpaid and $XXX per min Prepaid.

10. How do I get to my Voicemail while Roaming?

You are required to dial +5926696245 or +5926606245 to get to your voicemail.
Checking your voicemail while roaming will attract a cost. The call will be charged the same rate as if calling a Digicel number, ie $30 per minute.

11. Am I able to benefit from local promotions? E.g. Free after 3, Free Weekends etc.?

No. You will not be able to benefit from any local products or promotions.

12. If I am a Prepaid customer with bonus credit on my account can this be used while roaming?

No. Bonus credit is a local promotion and will not be able to be used while roaming.

13. How do I place a call home to Guyana while roaming?

To call home to Guyana you place +592 infront of the person number.
