We have Vacancies for:

CAPEX ACCOUNTANT

This role will report directly to the Capex Manager and will be responsible for maintaining the fixed assets register and performing all fixed assets related accounting for Papua New Guinea and other Digicel Pacific markets supported by the Fiji Shared Services Centre.  Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Assist in the migration of fixed assets & Project accounting functions from the PNG finance team to the Fiji SSC
  • Maintain a complete and accurate fixed assets register for both book and tax purposes including ensuring that asset description, location, class, depreciation rate, acquisition date etc. are correctly recorded for each asset
  • Review entries to the Capital work in progress GL account and ensure assets are capitalized in accordance with Group Accounting Policy
  • Ensure that CWIP accounts are cleared and transferred to fixed assets once assets are commissioned
  • Post the monthly depreciation & amortization journal

The successful candidate must have a University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Studies, CPA/ CA equivalent professional accounting qualification or working towards this. Minimum of 3 years in a similar position handling fixed assets ideally in a multinational corporation.

 

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGER

This role will report directly to the Head of Transaction Processing and will be responsible for overall supervision and managing the Accounts Receivable function for Papua New Guinea and 5 Pacific markets serviced by Digicel’ s Financial Shared Service Centre in Suva. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Prepare trade debtors reporting and variance commentary for the Quarterly Audit Workbooks
  • Review month-end AR account GL reconciliations for all markets
  • Prepare and be accountable for KPI and metric reporting for the AR team
  • Coach, train and develop direct reports including succession planning
  • Performance evaluation and management of all AR staff including objective setting and hire new staff as required

The successful candidate must have a University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Studies, experience in managing teams, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the Accounts Receivable department for a multinational corporation.
