Digicel introduces mobile recharge option for Sky Pacific payments

Digicel Fiji introduces a convenient new payment channel that enables customers to pay for Sky Pacific using their Digicel recharge and get up to 10Gb free Mobile Data.


Friday 2nd June, 2017 – Digicel Fiji announced today that from this weekend customers can pay their Sky Pacific subscription using the recharge balance on their Digicel mobile. The new payment option means that thousands of Sky Pacific customers across Fiji will no longer need to visit a Digicel store or other Bill Pay locations in order to pay their monthly Sky Pacific charges.  Every monthly Sky Triple Play payment using Digicel also generates up to 10 Gb of free mobile data.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Mr Darren McLean said, “This is a great solution for customers that don’t have time to visit a store to pay their bills.  Our customers can now use their recharge to make calls, use the internet or pay their Sky bills. We are always looking ways to improve the customer experience and this is a fantastic option for our Sky customers. Paying your Sky bill will be as simple as topping up your mobile. As an extra bonus our Triple Play customers will earn 10Gb of free mobile data and free calls, just for paying through their mobile.  This will keep them going all month.”

He added, the convenience factor will drive uptake of the mobile payments channel. There are already more than 100 payment locations for Sky Pacific around Fiji as well as online banking, but the move to include recharge as a way to pay, means that the number will grow to more than 1,500.

“Typically the bill payment locations are open during business hours, but Digicel recharge locations are everywhere and they are often open after hours.  We know this will appeal to busy customers and families in remote locations where bill payment locations can be some distance away,” said Mr McLean.

Digicel says the new payment service will be available in June for the popular Triple Play Home Bundle package, as well as regular Sky Pacific subscriptions.  Customers can make recharge payments by dialling *555# on their Digicel mobile and following the menu.  Triple Play customers paying via their Digicel mobile get 10Gb of free data plus free Digicel calls and SMS for the month.  Regular Sky Pacific customers get 5Gb of free data and free Digicel calls and SMS.
