Digicel throws support behind Suva Badminton Open with cash sponsorship.
Tuesday June 21, 2016 – Digicel today announced a cash sponsorship in support of the Suva Badminton Open, which will be held in Suva this weekend.
The three-day open is expected to attract 80 players, four players are also coming from Vanuatu.
Digicel Fiji’s Head of Marketing, Ms. Sheryl Singh said,” We are delighted to support the organizing committee during the Suva Open, this Friday to Sunday. We look forward to some exciting Badminton this weekend, and we are happy to support this event.”

Fiji Badminton vice-president, Mr. Dennis Fong said,” Being a minor sport, Badminton has many challenges in getting sponsorship in growing the sport in the country. Fiji Badminton is thankful to Digicel for this sponsorship as we continue to achieving our goals in promoting the sport.”
The top seed at the Suva Open will be Jason Low from Malaysia, while local players Andra Whiteside, Carline Bentley, Shivneil Chand, Aninda Sahai and Liam Fong will provide a tough battle.
