Wednesday April 20th 2016 – Digicel has confirmed its ongoing support as Silver sponsor for the 2016 edition of Women in Business Awards. This is the fourth successive year for Digicel’s partnership with the WIB Awards.
Digicel has been at the forefront of supporting business communities, providing them with cutting-edge technology solutions to help them manage their businesses better. The Silver sponsorship is worth $30,000 including cash and prizes like smartphones, tablets, free talk time and data.
Digicel Fiji’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Darren McLean said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with WIB and thank the organizing committee for this opportunity to be part of this great Fiji-wide initiative. “
“The prizes we provide will help the business women with business mobility solutions. These successful business women can then connect to Fiji’s biggest 4G data network courtesy of Digicel, providing the edge they need in the fast moving corporate world. “
“At Digicel we have a proud history of supporting women in key leadership roles, ensuring they have the necessary training and providing the support to help them succeed. We have up to 15 women in senior leadership roles in Digicel Fiji and we expect this number to grow in the next two years. “
“Digicel has introduced this year ’Women in Leadership League’ or WILL which is the vehicle to provide our women with a platform to grow together, side by side with other empowered women. WILL promotes the exchanging of innovative ideas, the learning of leadership skills and it will also provide leadership tools for Digicel women to use to grow and develop personally and professionally. This initiative will reinforce gender diversity and will ensure the interests, needs and priorities of women are heard and taken into consideration.
WIB will also identify business women from rural areas who will win special prizes, handsets and Digicel credit for a year to help their small businesses stress-free communications and technology support to help them manage their business affairs better.
Digicel is also a keen supporter of a number of female initiatives, sponsoring both Fiji Netball and Suva Volleyball. Whether it is in business or sport, Digicel is keen to provide resources that help females succeed at the highest level.
