TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Digicel Roaming Pass (“The Plan(s)”) is available to Digicel Postpaid GSM customers (“Customer(s)”) except where otherwise stated below.

The Plan allows Customers to be charged the agreed roaming rates, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

The Plan is only capable of being utilised by Postpaid and Prepaid Customers who are roaming in United States of America on the AT&T or T-Mobile networks; Canada on Rogers, Bell or Telus networks; Vodafone, EE, T-Mobile or Orange networks in the United Kingdom; Vodafone or Meteor networks in Ireland; the Digicel network in Digicel Caribbean countries excluding Guyana United Kingdom. The Plan is not available for use by Customers other than as stipulated in these Terms and Conditions.

Only Customers who are Digicel Bermuda customers may avail themselves of The Plan.

 

Customers intending to utilise The Plan must ensure that the handset that will be used while roaming is capable of roaming and is compatible with the AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the United States; Rogers, Bell or Telus in Canada; Vodafone, EE, T-Mobile or Orange networks in the United Kingdom; Vodafone or Meteor networks in Ireland; Digicel network in the Caribbean.  Customers will be unable to utilise The Plan if they do not satisfy these criteria.

The Plan will be available as follows:

  1. Digicel Roaming Pass Prepaid – fourteen days (14) days: $20 subscription fee*

  2. Digicel Roaming Pass Postpaid – thirty (30) days: $30 subscription fee

  3. Digicel Caribbean One Rate – ongoing: no subscription fee

*Digicel Prepaid Roaming Pass is currently only available for those travelling to the USA.

Postpaid Customers will be required to pay a thirty (30) day subscription fee for the Digicel Roaming Pass, which shall be valid for 30 days and Prepaid Customers will be required to pay a fourteen (14) day subscription fee for the Digicel Roaming Pass, which shall be valid for fourteen (14) days as the case may be.  Subscription fees are not pro-rated.

Once the Digicel Roaming Pass has been activated, The Customer will be charged the following rates for the full duration of The Plan when roaming on the AT&T or T-Mobile Network in the United States; Rogers, Bell or Telus in Canada; Vodafone, EE, T-Mobile or Orange networks in the UK; Vodafone or Meteor networks in Ireland; the Digicel network in the Caribbean:

*Calls from Bermuda will still incur per minute charge from your international long distance provider.  Without an international long distance provider, calls from Bermuda will not be received while roaming anywhere in the world.

* These rates apply when roaming with a Digicel SIM card on the Digicel network in the Caribbean.

 

Calls to voicemail will be charged as a normal call to Bermuda.

Prepaid customers must have sufficient credit to subscribe for a Digicel Roaming Pass.

It is recommended that Customers activate their Digicel Roaming Pass prior to travelling.

Digicel Prepaid Customers must initiate activation of the Plan via USSD code *359# to be sent from the Customer’s handset/device.  The Prepaid Customer will be required to follow the instructions received to activate the Plan.  Activations may occur in Bermuda or upon arrival in the United States.

Digicel Postpaid Customers can initiate activation of the Plan via SMS from the Customer’s handset.  The Postpaid Customer will be required to text ‘UK’ or ‘Ireland’ to 2451 and follow the instructions received to activate the Plan.  Activations may occur in Bermuda or upon arrival in the United Kingdom or Ireland.

It is recommended that Customers reboot their device if the Plan is activated in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom or Ireland.

Activation of the Plan will be confirmed to Customers via text message. If activation of the Plan fails, Customers will receive a text message indicating the reason for failure and the correct activation code.

If the activation request is received via email, the Digicel Roaming Pass shall be activated for Customers within twenty four (24) hours.

Plan rates are only applicable while roaming on the AT&T or T-Mobile networks in the United States; Rogers, Bell or Telus in Canada; Vodafone, EE, T-Mobile and Orange in the UK; Vodafone, & Meteor in Ireland; the Digicel network in the Caribbean. Customers will be charged their applicable rates upon return to Bermuda.

During the period of the Plan, if a Prepaid customer runs out of credit and then adds credit, the Customer shall be charged at the reduced roaming rates for the duration of the Plan.

After a Customer’s Plan has expired, Customer’s will be charged at the standard roaming rates for all data, voice and SMS services.

Free Nights and Weekends, Bonus Credit or any other local promotions are not applicable while roaming.

Customers shall be allowed to re-subscribe to the Plan while roaming. There is no limit on the number of times that a Customer may subscribe to the Plan.

Prior to expiration of the Plan, Customers shall receive a text message indicating the date of expiration.

Digicel reserves the right to terminate the Plan forthwith if in its sole opinion the Plans are being abused, such abuse to include but not be limited to, unreasonable levels of usage, reselling or attempts to resell the Data, whether on a commercial basis or otherwise, general abuse deemed as an attempt to undermine the integrity of Digicel’s network or services.

Digicel reserves the right to modify or discontinue (permanently or temporarily) The Plans being offered to its Customer at its discretion.

Digicel reserves the right to at any time, with or without notice, to vary or cancel the Terms and Conditions of its Plan. In the event of Digicel giving notice to Customers of any such changes to or cancellation of the Service, it shall suffice for Digicel to give Customers notice via messages to customer’s handset/device or to post such notification on Digicel’s website.  Any such notification shall be effective immediately or as of the date referred to in such notifications.

Customers remain bound by the Digicel Postpaid Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, these Terms and Conditions are in addition to any other Terms and Conditions of use of any of Digicel’s other services.
