Q. What are Go Social packs?

A: Go Social packs are a great way for new and existing Digicel Prepaid customers who regularly use any or all of Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram or Twitter apps to save money.  A Go Social pack allows you to use these services as much as you like on our superfast LTE network without eating in to any data allowance or consuming your Prepaid credit.

 

Q: How much does a Go Social pack cost?

A: There are three Go Social packs: 7 days for $10, 14 days for $20 or 30 days for $35.  Or you can get them FREE with a Freedom Bundle or on a Daily Plan see below for more.

 

Q: Is any use excluded from a Go Social pack?

A: Yes. VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) that you can access from some social media apps, such as WhatsApp Voice, are excluded from the inclusive allowances of all Go Social packs.  Anything that resides “outside” of any of the named apps, such as following a link to a YouTube video, will not be included.  It is just the apps and not the websites that are included.  Such activity will degrade any data plan you have or consume credit at standard rates.

 

Q: Can I get unlimited use of other social media apps with a Go Social pack?

A: No.  The apps included are Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram or Twitter.  Globally, these are the most used social media services so we hope we are looking after you here.  Don’t forget, you can still save money on all other apps and sites with the data included in a Freedom Bundle or a Data Boost.

 

Q: I am a BlackBerry user – anything special I should know?

A: Yes.  Due to conflicting technologies, the way we ensure you do not get charged for any social app use when on a Go Social pack is not compatible with the normal RIM services that sit beneath traditional Blackberry use.  This means, that with a Go Social pack active, you will not be able to access certain RIM features and services - the encrypted ones.  For most consumers this will not be a problem, but may be for enterprise users.

Q: How can I get a Go Social pack?

A: Just dial *100# from your Digicel Prepaid phone and follow the onscreen prompts or download My Digicel app to buy plans on the go.  But before you activate, don’t forget Go Social packs are FREE with Freedom Bundles...

 Q: Are there any data limits on Go Social*?

A:  Yes although you should have more Go Social data than you could use, please see below:

·         Freedom 99, Freedom 75, Freedom 50 & Go Social 30 plans will have a 10GB Free Go Social* (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram & Twitter) 30 day cap.

·         Freedom 25 & Go Social 14 plans will have a 6GB Free Go Social* (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram & Twitter) 14 day cap.

·         Freedom 10 & Go Social 7 plans will have a 3GB Free Go Social* (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram & Twitter) 7 day cap.

·         Daily Talk, Text & Web plan will have a 1GB Free Go Social* (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram & Twitter) 1 day cap.

*Go Social Packs do not include VoIP calling (e.g. WhatsApp Voice), this activity will incur standard data use or charges.

Q: What are Freedom Bundles?

A:  Freedom Bundles offer new and existing Prepaid customers the best ever prepaid value by offering five different bundles of local minutes, texts and data on our superfast LTE network for one fixed price and include a Go Social pack for FREE.  With a Freedom Bundle active, you will also benefit from free local incoming calls, one simple local call rate of $0.30 (no more watching the clock for peak time to end) and alerts when you are running low on your allowances.

 

Q: How have Freedom Bundles changed?

A: In August 2015, we made some changes to Freedom Bundles following their first launch in May 2015.  We simplified the naming, reduced the entry level price for a 7 day plan to $10 (from $15), reduced the price for a 30 day plan to $50 (from $100) and changed the allowances to better reflect the needs of all customers.

 

Q: What happens if I am on an older Freedom Bundle and want to keep it?

A: If you are already enjoying the value of the May 2015 version of Freedom Bundles (called Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum), you will continue to benefit from exactly the same plan so long as it continues to auto-renew.  Your Freedom Bundle will continue to auto-renew so long as you have sufficient credit available at the appropriate date.  If your bundle does not renew (due to insufficient credit), you will not be able to activate the old type again – but you can take one of the new bundles.

 

Q: What happens if I am on an older Freedom Bundle and want to change it?

A: To get the very best value including free Go Social, you can just call our customer care team on 500-5000.  In one call, they will deactivate your old bundle and get you up and running on the new.

 

Q: Which Go Social pack is included free with my Freedom Bundle?

A: We match the Go Social pack to your Freedom Bundle based on the duration of your Freedom Bundle, so a 7 day Freedom Bundle will benefit from a 7 day Go Social pack, etc.

 

Q: What if I want the Freedom Bundle but not the Go Social pack?

A: No problem, we do not charge you any extra for the Go Social pack – it is FREE with your Freedom Bundle. If you do not use any of the social media apps included in Go Social, you will still benefit from the huge savings compared to standard rates for the comparable use of voice, minutes, SMS and data.

 

Q: What happens when my Freedom Bundle duration ends?

A: If you have available credit, we will automatically renew your chosen Freedom Bundle to make sure you continue to get the advantage of the very best Prepaid value.  We will send you a text when successfully renewed.  If there is insufficient credit available when the auto-renew is attempted, we will send you a text to let you know.  You can then reactivate by dialing *100# at any time.

 

Q: What happens when I use all of an allowance?

A: If you use all of any allowance (voice, SMS or data) you will still be able to use your phone as normal so long as you have available credit.  You will be on our standard Prepaid voice rates and data rates. REMEMBER: if your Freedom Bundle is still active (you have days remaining), you will continue to benefit both from free local incoming calls and the a simple flat rate (regardless of peak or off-peak time) for local outgoing and Long Distance incoming.

Q: How can I get a Freedom Bundle?

A: Just dial *100# from your Digicel Prepaid phone and follow the onscreen prompts or download the My Digicel app to buy plans on the go.  You do not need to do anything more to get your FREE Go Social pack; it will automatically be included.

 

Q: How do I get Go Social FREE with a Daily Plan?

A:  We have added a 1 day Go Social plan to our Talk, Text and Web Daily Plan at no extra charge.  This means you can enjoy unlimited local calls and texts, unlimited Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Twitter, plus 30MB of LTE data for other things like web browsing, all for just $3.50 per day.

 

Q: Can I get a Go Social pack with another Daily Plan?

A: Yes.  You can activate a regular 7, 14 or 30 day Go Social pack (at standard pricing) alongside any of our Daily Plans.  But only the Talk, Text and Web Daily Plan includes one day of Go Social for free.

Q: How can I get a Daily Plan with FREE Go Social?

A: Just dial *100# from your Digicel Prepaid phone and follow the onscreen prompts.  Just be sure to select the $3.50 Talk, Text and Web Daily Plan to get your FREE Go Social pack.

 

Q: What are Freedom Data Boosts?

A:  Freedom Data Boosts offer new and existing prepaid customers a way to get even more value with a set amount of LTE data for a fixed price.  They can be used to “boost” your Freedom Bundle or by themselves.  There are four Freedom Data Boosts to choose from, starting at only $10.


Q: What happens when my Freedom Data Boost duration ends?

A: Freedom Data Boosts will not automatically renew, this is because we know some customers would like to take a Data Boost for specific reasons, perhaps to complement their chosen Freedom Bundle and may not need the same again straight away.  You can easily reactivate the same, or a different, Data Boost by dialing *186# send or by using the My Digicel app.

 

Q: I am trying to activate a Freedom Data Boost with the short-code but it is not in the list, why?

A: If you cannot select from *100# or have dialed *186# and the Data Boost you are looking for is not listed, it means you already have that Data Boost active.  We do this to make sure you do not accidentally apply the same Data Boost when you don’t need it!  Unfortunately this will still be the case if you have used all of your allowance but still have some days duration left.  In this instance, just phone customer care (500-5000) and they will be able to help you.

Q: Are Go Social packs included free with Freedom Data Boosts?

A: No.  Go Social packs are only included free with Freedom Bundles.  However, you can have a Data Boost and a Go Social pack active at the same time, purchased separately.

Q: How do all these extraordinary ways to save money work together (Plan Combinations)?

A:  We realize that “one size does not fit all”; that’s why we have created a broad range of products that we think will help all customers get the very best Prepaid value for their individual needs.  If you need advice, the best option is to visit us in store, but below are some key points.

 

Q: Can I add any Data Boost with any Freedom Bundle?

A:  Yes.  We have created these Freedom Bundles and Data Boosts so you can get just the right mix for your individual needs.  Just so you know, you will use the data from whichever you activated first before moving on to the other.

 

Q: Can I add a Data Boost by itself (without a Freedom Bundle)?

A:  Yes.  Freedom Data Boosts are available by themselves too.

 

Q: Can I add a Data Boost to any other Prepaid Plans, like the Daily Plans or Blackberry Data Plans?

A:  Yes.  Freedom Data Boosts can be combined with any of our Daily Plans or Blackberry Data Plans.

 

Q: What happens if I have a Data Boost and another Bundle or Plan active at the same time?

A:  You will get all the benefits available but remember: if you have multiple products with a data allowance, the data will be depleted in the following order:

1.       Go Social pack (while active no data use from other plans);

2.       Daily Plan;

3.       Freedom Data Boost;

4.       Freedom Bundle;

5.       Blackberry Data Plan.

 

Q: What if I want to stop a bundle, boost or plan from auto renewing?

A:  Use My Digicel app to ‘opt out’ or visit us in store.

Q: For Prepaid is there any data rounding in place?

A:  Yes. Data sessions of under 100 Kb will be rounded to 100 Kb, data sessions of over 100 Kb will be rounded to 1 Mb and thereafter to the next Mb
