DIGICEL DONATES TABLETS TO DAME MARJORIE BEAN HOPE ACADEMY

Hamilton, Bermuda – March 13, 2023. The Friends of Hope Academy, Charity #722 and The Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy were the most recent beneficiaries of Digicel’s Pick & Give initiative. Over the Christmas season and into the New Year, Digicel customers visiting retail stores were able to pick the donation that would be given to the school.

The Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy is a uniquely positioned member of the Bermuda Public School System, staffed and equipped to serve students who present with severe to profound multiple learning disabilities, and, complex care needs. The donation of five Samsung tablets to the school will help students enhance their learning abilities and skills through the use of everyday technology.

The Academy’s mission is to serve students with exceptional needs, by supporting them through collaboration with their families and community organisations, to ensure that they achieve their ultimate potential.

Digicel introduced Pick & Win as the new gamified way to win MORE in the MyDigicel app, so in order to make this real for customers, and to thank the surrounding communities, the concept was translated into Pick & Give, where customers visiting Digicel retail stores, could help pick a gift to give back to the Dame Marjorie Bean Hope Academy.
