Path to Take.
Thursday, November 20, 2014 – (Bridgetown, Barbados): Twenty students from the Ellerslie Secondary school are now more aware of what path they should take to pursue a career in Information Technology (IT) or a related field, following the completion of a 4-week mentorship programme conducted by telecommunications company, Digicel.
Entitled the Corey Wood Mentorship Programme, in honour of the beloved Digicel technical employee who passed away earlier this year, the programme was aimed at giving young IT students an insight into non-traditional careers in IT, as well as assisting with their well-rounded personal development.
Each week, the twenty 5th form Ellerslie Secondary students were visited by various members of Digicel’s technical team, who made presentations on their personal journeys, as well as gave guidance to those interested in pursuing careers in this area.
