METHODS TO TOP-UP

1. What are the available Top Up Methods?

As a prepaid customer, there are a number of different methods that you can use to top up (add credit) to your account. Please see below:

  1. Flex E-Card - This is a paper receipt usually printed from an electronic POS terminal.
  2. BankFlex - Digicel BankFlex gives you the convenience to purchase PrePaid Credit using any NCB or BNS ATM machine with your respective cards.
  3. Direct Flex - This swipe card allows you the ease of adding credit directly to your digicel number. You can get them free of cost at select Gas Stations, Supermarkets and Pharmacies Island wide. The distributor will need to register your card to your digicel mobile number.
  4. Digicel Top Up/International Top Up - With Digicel Top Up, you can buy Digicel credit for your friends and family in Jamaica from select retail outlets/stores in the USA, UK, Canada, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas.
  5. Digicel Online Top-Up - Digicel Online Top Up allows any individual who has a valid credit card to send credit to any Digicel PrePaid phone via the Digicel Website. This service can be accessed by visiting the Digicel website and selecting the “Digicel Online Top Up” option. Digicel Online Top Up service is provided in conjunction with Ezetop.
  6. Ezetop Up in Stores - This service allows persons in the UK to purchase credit for any Jamaican Digicel PrePaid account at ALL Pay Point locations. You can visit any Pay Point location. Pay Point will provide the you with the top-up voucher similar to a Flex-e voucher. The voucher number can be sent via email, SMS, or by calling the friend in Jamaica. The person in Jamaica can then top-up the account as they normally do.
  7. Phone 2 Phone - Phone 2 phone (P2P) gives the flexibility to purchase PrePaid credit from street vendors, stalls and small shops across the island. The amount of credit purchased is no longer restricted to the existing voucher denominations. Instead, you can have any amount from $40 JMD upwards added directly to the their account once GCT is taken into consideration.
  8. Finger Tip Top-Up - Finger Tip Top Up consists of two stages, registering a mobile telephone number with Digicel Online Top-Up and using codes typed on your phone to add the credit. You will then be presented with a screen showing your token, displaying the amounts that will be accepted by the Fingertip Top Up service and explaining how to use the service. 
  9. Data Flex - A DataFlex Voucher is one that is designed to be used for Data plan purchases only. Plan purchases include both GSM (2G/EDGE and 4G Mobile) and 4G Broadband subscriptions. These vouchers do not allow voice calls and text messages and Pay as You Go data service is not accessible from the DataFlex balance.
  10. Mini Flex - MiniFlex vouchers are physically smaller versions of the conventional Plastic FlexCard voucher. MiniFlex vouchers are used to top up a your account and are used in the same manner (voice/text) as a regular Flexcard.

2. How do I check my balance?

As a Prepaid customer, you may check your balance by dialing *120# send or by calling 120. To check Text credit you may only dial *120*2# send. For Postpaid customers, when you dial *120*1# send, it shows your balances while *120*2# send shows your bundled minutes.

3. How do I top using MiniFlex Cards?

GSM MINIFLEX CARD: Convenience in a card! Mini-Flex cards are readily available all around the island and can be used for phones, tablets & dongles.

  1. Scratch off the dark strip covering the voucher number with a coin.
  2. Dial from your mobile phone: *121* the voucher number and press #(e.g. *121*123456789#)
  3. Then press "SEND"
  4. Look at the phone screen for a message telling you whether the top up was successful.

OR 

  1. Dial 120 press "SEND"
  2. Select Option "2"
  3. Enter voucher number press"#"

To check your account balance:

  1. Dial *120# or by calling 120
  2. Then press “SEND"
  3. Check your phone screen or listen for your current balance.

DATAFLEX CARD:Can be used for data enabled phones,tablets & dongles ONLY. Cannot be used for text, voice calls or Pay As You Go.

To recharge your DATAFlex account, please follow the steps below:

  1. Type*121*DATAFlex number # into the phone-Press send.
  2. Check the screen on your phone-the confirmation message with your balance will be displayed.

To Recharge your Digicel Broadband account from your mobile phone.

  1. Type *125*Broadbandnumber# into phone-Press Send
  2. Type *125* DATAFlex number # intophone-Press Send 

To recharge your4G Broadband account directly log into SelfCare.

To check your account balance:

  1. Dial *120*10#
  2. Then press "SEND"
  3. Check your screen for your current balance.

4. How do I top up using Flex E-Card?

To add a Flex E voucher to your account:

  1. Dial from your mobile phone: *121* the voucher numbers followed by the # sign (e.g. *121*1234567890123#)
  2. Then press "SEND" 

OR

  1. Dial 120 press "SEND"
  2. Select Option "2"
  3. Enter voucher number press"#"

5. How do I top up using Bank Flex?

Digicel Bankflex gives you the convenience to purchase PrePaid Credit Using any NCB or BNS ATM machine. 

At the NCB ATM Machine: 

  1. Insert your NCB Debit card
  2. Select Add credit.
  3. Enter the amount of credit. 
  4. Enter the mobile # to which you would like the credit to be added. 
  5. The credit will be applied directly to the phone number entered.
  6. A text message will then be sent to the phone confirming that the credit was applied.
  7. Dial *120# to confirm the balance on your phone.

Look at the phone screen for a message telling you whether the top up was successful.

Or visit any BNS ATM location:

  1. Insert your Scotiabank debit card. 
  2. Select Mobile top-up. 
  3. Select Purchase PrePaid Voucher. 
  4. Select Mobile Service Provider Digicel.
  5. Then select account type (ie. Savings or Chequing).
  6. When complete, an ATM receipt will be issued with the voucher number.
  7. To add the voucher to your account, dial from your mobile phone: *121* the voucher numbers followed by the # sign (e.g. *121*1234567890123#) then press "SEND". 

Look at the phone screen for a message telling you whether the top up was successfulspan style.

 

How do I top up using Direct Flex: 

This swipe card allows you the ease of adding credit. You can get them free of cost at select gas stations, supermarkets and pharmacies Island wide. The distributor will need to register your card to your Digicel mobile number.

Adding Credit Using DirectFLEX:

  1. Tell the merchant/cashier the amount of credit required
  2. Give them your DirectFlex swipe card
  3. Pay the dealer the value of your desired voucher
  4. The Merchant will swipe your DirectFLEX card
  5. The credit is sent directly to the customer’s phone number
  6. Dial *120# to confirm the balance on your phone.

6. How do I top up using Digicel Top Up?

With Digicel Top Up, you can buy Digicel credit for your friends and family in Jamaica from select retail outlets/stores in the USA, UK, Canada, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas. All you have to do is:

  1. Go to the Digicel Top Up location nearest to you. 
  2. Tell the merchant/cashier the amount of credit required and the number you want to send credit to (either verbally or this can be written on a simple slip provided at the outlet)
  3. The credit will be automatically added to the friend or family member’s PrePaid account and they will receive a text message confirming the amount of credit sent.

The list of participating locations includes: 

  • Jamaica National 
  • UniTransfer
  • MoreMagic

7. How do I top up using Digicel Online?

Digicel Online Top Up allows any individual who has a valid credit card to send credit to any Digicel Prepaid phone via the Digicel Top Up Website). This service can be accessed by visiting the Digicel website and selecting the “Digicel Online Top Up” option. Digicel Online Top Up service is provided in conjunction with Ezetop.

8. What is required to use the service?

  1. A valid email address
  2. A registered Digicel Online Top Up account 
  3. A valid debit/credit card (MasterCard/VISA/NCB Keycard)
  4. An active Digicel PrePaid number

9. How does it work?

  1. Register a Digicel Online Top Up account for free.
  2. Sign in to your Digicel Online Account
  3. Enter transaction details
  4. Enter card details
  5. Pay and view your receipt

The Digicel phone will receive an SMS confirmation message (text message).

Automatic Top Up allows schedule future Top Ups, that will automatically be sent to a specified Digicel customer at a designated time and date.

You don’t have to be a Digicel customer to use this service. Just sign up or login, enter the Top Up details once, and Digicel will do the rest. 

10. How do I top up using Phone to Phone?

Phone 2 Phone (P2P) gives customers the flexibility to purchase PrePaid credit from street vendors, stalls and small shops across the island. Look out for the persons wearing the red bib marked Phone 2 Phone (P2P).

11. How do you get the credit? 

  1. Just tell your Phone 2 Phone (P2P) vendor the amount of credit required.
  2. Give the vendor your phone number.
  3. Pay the vendor for the voucher.
  4. The credit is sent directly from the vendor’s phone to your phone, in seconds! It's that easy. 
  5. Dial *120# to confirm the balance on your phone.

Phone 2 Phone (P2P) Features:

  • Its quick, simple and convenient- No pins, no paper, no hassle
  • With Phone 2 Phone (P2P) you can purchase variable amounts of credit starting as low as $50 (e.g. $63, $89, $94 etc)
  • Instant text message confirmation from “400” that your phone has been topped up.

12. How do I top up using Finger Tip Top-Up?

Fingertip Top Up allows registered online customers to send top up from their Digicel mobile phone to any number they choose and have the amount charged to the credit card on their account. Customers can also register a Digicel mobile phone belonging to a family member or friend which then allows that the owner of that phone to send the Top Up request.

The process requires that the customer has a: 

  1. Registered account on the site 
  2. A credit card stored on the site 
  3. A Digicel mobile telephone 

Process Overview for the customer: 

  • Log onto the website www.digiceljamaica.com 
  • Select Online Top Up 
    • If you are a new customer follow the registration steps outlined for Digicel Online Top Up
    • iIf you are an existing customer, use your log in credentials to access the top up page.
  • Complete Top Up transaction and save credit card credentials 
  • Register a mobile telephone number for the service. 

Step 1: Register a mobile telephone number for Fingertip top up 

  • Customer chooses “Fingertip Top Up” from the menu of the website 
  • Customer selects the market they wish to top up 
  • Customer enters the mobile telephone number that they will use to generate the Fingertip Top Up requests.

  1. The customer will then be presented with a screen showing their token, displaying the amounts that will be accepted by the Fingertip Top Up service and explaining how to use the service

Step 2: Performing a Fingertip Top Up 

  1. The customer sends a USSD message from their phone 
    1. To top up their own phone the customer sends the message *152*token*amount# - e.g. *152*12345*10# 
    2. To top up another Digicel phone the customer sends the message *152*token*amount*number# - e.g. *152*12345*10*18670000000# 
  2. The customer will receive a message on their mobile telephone informing them of the status of their top up.
    1. The top up has been successful 
    2. The top up has failed (e.g. incorrect number) 
    3. An invalid amount was sent, in which case the customer will be presented with the correct amounts that can be used.
