PREPAID VOICE ROAMING BUNDLES

1. What are “Prepaid Voice Bundles”?

Prepaid Roaming Bundles is a voice plan offer that allows GSM Prepaid customers, who roam in the US or Caribbean, to make calls within the roaming country or back home using bundled minutes. There are 2 plans available, namely the US Roaming Bundle plan and the Caribbean Roaming Bundle plan.

2. How does “Prepaid Voice Bundles” work?

The Prepaid Voice Bundle consists of:

  • US Roaming Bundle Plan - JMD$899 for 20minutes
  • Caribbean Roaming Bundle Plan - JMD$899 for 30minutes 

If you are a Prepaid GSM customer, you will be able to activate either the US or Caribbean “Roaming Bundle Plan” at a cost of JMD$899. Each plan allows you to make and receive calls while roaming either in the United States or the Caribbean (dependent on the plan activated).

Prepaid customers will be able to use the USSD code: 

1. *153*10# to initiate activation of the PrePaid Voice Bundle for the United States.

2. *153*20# to initiate activation of the PrePaid Voice Bundle for the Caribbean.

US Roaming bundle will provide 20 minutes to make and receive calls. While, Caribbean Roaming Bundles will provide 30 minutes to make and receive calls. Both plans expire after 15 days. Bundle calls include calls made within the roaming country and calls back home. Calls to other countries will be charged from the main balance at regular roaming rates. Caribbean bundles will also include calls made to other Caribbean territories inclusive of countries not equipped with a Digicel Network. 

3. Where in the US will I be able to use the Prepaid Voice Bundle?

Once a US Prepaid Roaming Bundle plan is activated, you will be able to roam in all states in the United States that the roaming service is offered. Once you can successfully roam, you will be able to use the plan. 

Activating the Prepaid Roaming Bundle while roaming is not possible on networks that do not support USSD codes (i.e. *153*10#, *153*20#, *120*17# etc.).

4. What are the Caribbean countries that are included in the Prepaid Voice Bundles plan?

All Digicel Caribbean countries that are equipped with a Digicel network will allows the use of the Prepaid Roaming Bundles for Digicel Jamaica customers.

Activating the Prepaid Roaming Bundle while roaming is not possible on networks that do not support USSD codes (i.e. *153*10#, *153*20#, *120*17# etc.).

5. How do I activate the Prepaid Voice Bundles plan?

To activate “Prepaid Roaming Bundles” you are be required to dial :

• *153*10# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the United States.

AND

• *153*20# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the Caribbean.

The plan will then need to be confirmed by dialing *153*1# send. Once confirmed, activation of the plan is then completed and indicated by a notification message.

6. Am I able to activate a Prepaid Voice Bundle from my Dual or Hybrid account?

No. Prepaid roaming bundles applies once you are a regular Prepaid customer, this does not not apply to Dual or Hybrid accounts. 

For Dual accounts, if the code is dialed the plan will be activated but will not be applicable while roaming. 

7. What will happen if my bundle finishes while I am on a call?

The call will continue and be billed at regular roaming rates once there is credit left on the account. If there is insufficient credit the call will disconnect.

8. Will I be charged from my bundle once my voicemail is active on my phone?

Yes, once a call is connected to the voicemail the account will be charged from the bundles. If the bundles are depleted the account will be charged from the main balance. 

9. Will I be able to activate a plan while roaming?

Yes, you will be able to activate the Prepaid Roaming Bundle plan whether you are roaming or not. 

Once there is sufficient credit, the you should simply dial:

  • *153*10# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the United States.
  • *153*20# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the Caribbean.

10. Do I have to activate the Prepaid Roaming Bundle plan before I roam?

No. Activation can be done before or while roaming. Once there is sufficient credit, you can simply dial:

  • *153*10# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the United States.
  • *153*20# to initiate activation of the Prepaid Roaming Bundle for the Caribbean.

11. How do I renew my plan?

There will be no option to renew the Prepaid Roaming Bundle plan. The plan can be reactivated once it expires. 

12. How can I add more minutes to my existing plan?

You can add more minutes to an existing plan by dialing either:

  • US Prepaid Roaming Bundle - *153*5*10#
  • Caribbean Prepaid Roaming Bundle -*153*5*20#

There is no limit as to how many bundles can be purchased. This means that you can accumulate as many roaming bundles as you wish. 

13. What happens when my minutes are finished?

Once minutes are finished, you will be charged the normal roaming rates to make calls. You will also have the option to activate another bundle at the same cost of JMD899

14. Will I receive a notification when my bundle minutes are finished?

No. There will be no notification sent when the minutes are finished. Notifications are sent 2 days and 1 day before the expiry of the plan, informing you of the date and time of expiry for the plan.

15. I travel frequently; will I be able to activate both plans at the same time?

Yes, both Prepaid Roaming Bundles plans (Caribbean and US) can be activated at the same time. Each plan will only be used once you are roaming in the specified country. That is, Caribbean bundle works while in the Caribbean and US Bundle works while roaming in the United states

16. How do I cancel my Prepaid Roaming Bundle plan?

The plan cannot be cancelled after activation. During the activation process customers can dial *153*9# to cancel the activation.

Once activated the plan expires after 15 days.

17. How will I know that my plan has expired or minutes are finished?

You will receive a SMS notification 2 days and 1 day before the plan expires informing of the expiry of the plan. Each plan expires 15 days after activation.

18. How do I check my minutes?

You will be required to dial separate codes to check the balance for each plan. Please see below:

  • US Roaming Bundle - *153*10#
  • Caribbean Roaming Bundle - *153*20#

19. How do I check my plan expiry?

You will be required to dial separate codes to check the plan expiry.

  • US Roaming Bundle - *153*10#
  • Caribbean Roaming Bundle - *153*20#

20. What will happen to my remaining minutes after the plan expires?

Once the plan has expired all remaining minutes will be removed from the account. You will be charged at the regular roaming rates

21. Can I use the bundle to call toll free numbers?

No. Toll free numbers will be charged from the main account at the regular roaming rates.

22. What is the exchange rate?

The exchange rate is subject to change each month based on the foreign exchange market. 

23. As a Postpaid customer, will I be able to activate a Roaming Bundle?

No. PrePaid roaming Bundles are offered to GSM Prepaid customers only. As a Postpaid customers you will not be able to activate this plan.
