Sports Sponsorship

Sport is part of the fun and vitality of everyday life in every country in which we operate – from grassroots to elite level, Digicel is there supporting our customers’ sporting passions.

Whether you love cricket or football, athletics or rugby or you’re simply a sports fanatic, we want to ensure we make a difference by nurturing young talent all while giving you access to exciting, action-packed global sporting experiences.

In 2003 Digicel began sponsoring a 17-year-old sprinter with promise. Today, Usain Bolt is the Fastest Man in the World and an inspiration to millions, just like his fellow Digicel ambassador, the world-leading double Olympic champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.

As a long time lead sponsor of West Indies cricket and more recently founders of the Caribbean Premier League tournament – the “Biggest Party in Sport”, we have revolutionised T20 cricket and brought “carnival cricket” to a global audience of over 65 million people.

Digicel is also the biggest supporter of rugby in the South Pacific. Our contributions to the development of regional sports from the ground up support the growth of young talented athletes in a number of grassroots sport development programmes.

Our unique partnership with English Premier League giants, Chelsea FC, for the Digicel Kick Start programme saw over 2,500 children in the Caribbean and Central America experience world class football coaching from one of the top football clubs in the world. We now have a new partnership in place with City Football Group which comprises Manchester City FC and New York City FC.

Supporting Special Olympics has been a major focus for Digicel since our inception. The much-needed training equipment and funding that we provide enables a number of Special Olympics teams and associations throughout the region to attend competitions.

Digicel’s involvement in sports is our way to give back to the community as it promotes a healthy lifestyle and encourages the growth and development of athletic talent in the region.
